Henry R. Daniel was born July 1, 1851 in Emanuel County, Georgia and died September 3, 1916. He was the son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Atkinson) Daniel. Henry Daniel was a lawyer; served as sheriff of Emanuel County from January 12, 1884 until January 10, 1887; he served as Judge of City Court of Emanuel County; he was a Methodist and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Adelaid Kirkland. They had two daughters: Hattie and Mamie.
Henry R. Daniel's daughter Hattie became one of Emanuel County's noted historians. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Genealogy Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She taught English and History. She first married Bernard L. Humphrey. They had four children: Robert Henry, Bernard, Eloise, Berthea. She later married Gordon A. Fountain. They had two children: Gordon A. Jr., and Sara.
Seaborn S. Moore was born March 6, 1856 and died March 15, 1933. He was the son of William N. and Mary M. (Waters) Moore. Seaborn Moore served as sheriff of Emanuel County from January 10, 1887 until January 10, 1891. He also served as County Commissioner in the early 1900's. He owned and operated a cotton gin, sawmill, and a wood shingle mill. He married Rachel Hooks. They had eight children.
George Frederick Flanders was born, in Emanuel County on March 4, 1871, to William A. Flanders and Kitsy (Hall) Flanders. He died in 1937. He attended Emanuel County schools until he was 12 years of age, quitting to tend the farm with his father. In 1895, at age 25, he was appointed deputy sheriff of Emanuel County. He became sheriff in 1896 and serving until 1904. His twin brother, Joseph C. Flanders was a deputy sheriff and was killed in the line of duty. During his last year as sheriff, (1903-1904) he also served as Postmaster. He held this postition until 1921. George Frederick Flanders held large farming interests in Emanuel County; also held interest in Flanders Brothers member firm; was Director of The Citizens Bank of Swainsboro; was a member of the City Council in 19901-1902, and again in 1904; and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Carrie Louise Sutton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Sutton, on September 19, 1897. They had four sons: William H., George Frederick Jr., Joseph Chestnutt, and Edwin Frank.
