Full Title: AN ACT to authorize the Justices of the inferior court of Fayette county to convey to the commander of the 53d regiment Georgia Militia, a lot of land within the limits of the corporation of the town of Fayetteville for a parade ground of said regiment, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and immediately after the passage of this act, the Justices of the inferior court of Fayette county or a majority of them be, and they are hereby 
authorized and empowered to convey to the commander of the 53d regiment, Georgia Militia, Fayette, and his successors in office, one lot of land within the corporate limits of the town of Fayetteville, for the purpose of a parade ground for said regiment.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the authority aforesaid, That an

order passed at the September term, 1825, of the inferior court of said county relative to the closing up of the twenty feet alley, in the town of Fayetteville be, and the same is hereby confirmed and made legal, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

Georgia Volunteers For Service In Texas Revolution

Mrs. A. B. Harmonson, Box 48, Keller, Texas, has submitted this list of Volunteers from Fayette County, Georgia, who volunteered for service in the Texas Revolution, copied from the original letter of Col. J. D. Mann to Gov. William Schley, which is in the Georgia Archives in Atlanta.  [This is original text with this transcription - found this online with no reference to the book it came from - will keep looking for it - if you know, please let me know so I can reference it ]

Gov. Schley --

Sir in obedience to orders of the 17th Inst. the men raised by volunteer enlistment pursuant to the orders of the 23rd of January have this day taken up the line of March for West Point in Troop County.  Annex 10 is the list of the names of the officers and men.
