The original site of Ebenezer Methodist Church was on a hill behind the current Bethany Baptist Church. 

Services were held in a log house between 1828-1847.  In 1848 Robert Thompson sold the church one acre of

 land for 25 cents. The church later moved about a 1/2 mile away for an unknown reason.

It was the first Methodist church organized in Haralson County.
