Services Held Monday for D. F. Clements

Funeral services for D. F. Clements, well-known farmer and businessman who resided on Route 3, Fitzgearld in the Abba Community of Irwin County, were held at the Abba Missionary Baptist Church Monday, September 13th.

Mr. Clements died Saturday at the Irwin County Hospital following a short illness.

The Rev. Ed Mahoney, the Rev. Issac Hobby and the Rev. Tom Matthews officiated with burial in the Abba Church Cemetery. Music was furnished by Miss Myrtle Royal.

Mr. Clements was a school bus driver for a number of years in addition to being a trustee of both the Irwinville and Tapley schools in Irwin County and a member of the Bord of County Commissioners for four years.

His first wife, Mrs. Alista Doles Clements preceded him in death.

Survivors include:

The widow, Mrs. Lorena Tomberlin Clements.

Four sons, L. D. CLements, New ork City New York, Frank L. Clements, Tifton, Jesse Clements, Buffalo, New York, and James CLements, Dublin.

Two Daughers, Mrs. ALice Sheffield, Newport News, VA., and Mrs. Lois Ganey, Leland, North Carolina.

Five brothers, George Clements, FItzgerald, Emmett Clements, Rebeccca, Lamb Clements, Winter Garden, Fla., Sam Clements, Tifton and Walter Clements, Miami, Fla.

Two sisters, Mrs. Mamie DeFoe and Miss Hazel Clements, both of Miami, Fla.

Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Several nieces and nephews.

Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
