James R. Clements

REBECCA - James R. Clements, 65, or Route 1 died Saturday in a local hospital. Born in Irwin County, he was the retired owner/operator of Clements Logging Company. He was a member of Abba Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran. He was the son of the late Dave Clements and Alista Doles Clements.

Suvivors: wife, Nita L. Clements of Rebecca; children, the Rev. Larry Clements of Albany, Bobby Clements of FItzgerald, and Linda Faye Shealey of Peachtree City; brother and sisters, Lois Ganey of WIlmington, N.C., ALice Sheffield of Poquoson, VA., and Frank Clements of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild {my Cody}.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Abba Baptist Church. Burial: Luke Cemetery, Ben Hill County. THe Revs. Ronnie Griner and Ed Reeves will officiate. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.

WWII veteran, Mr. Clements, 65, dies Saturday in Dublin

James R. CLements, 65, of Rt 1, Rebecca, died Saturday, July 3, at the V. A. Medical Center in Dublin.

Mr. Clements was born to Alista Doles Clements and Dave Clements August 23, 1927, in Irwin County. He had lived in Irwin County most of his life where he was a member of Abba Baptist Church and retired as owner/operator of Clements Logging Company. He served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II.

Survivors include: wife, Nita L. Clements of Lands Crossing; sons, the Rev. Larry Clements of Albany and Bobby Clements of Fitzgerald; daughter, Linda Faye Shealey of Peachtree City; sisters, Lois Ganey of Wilmington, N.C. and Mrs. L. A. (Alice) Sheffield of Poquoson, Virg.; brother, Frank Clements of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren, and one great- grandchild {my Cody}.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6 at 2 P.M. at Abba Baptist Church with the Revs. Ronnie Griner and Ed Reeves officiating.

Interment was in Luke Cemetery in Ben Hill County.

The Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
