John McMichael born 1725 probably Scotland came from Pa., according to McMichael Historian Lois McMichael with his Mary (Irving) are the first
two members of this family in Ga. Lois says he is son of Charles who died 1758 Pa. with brothers George & Ezekiel. (Lois wrote Jackson Co History.)
John brought several grown children along with him.

His oldest son William was born a 1749 in Orangeburg Dist. SC according to his family historians, died 16 Apr 1809 Randolph Co. Ga. (This is the old
Randolph-later Jasper) He married Elizabeth H. White born 1752 in Anson Co NC Mar. 1770. She was the child of Joseph & Margaret Leeth.

John McMichael Jr. was born 1757 Orangeburg Dist. SC and died aft 16 Jul 1841 Jasper Co. Ga. He married Oct. 1780 Emily Green born 1762. She also
died Jasper.

David McMichael was born 1765 in NC and died 1829 Jasper Co. Ga. He married 20 Feb 1789 Sarah Kimbrough (Kimbro on Marriage license). She was born 1770
Va., the child of William K. and Mary Smith of Caswell Co NC.

James McMichael born a 1783 Ga died bef 10 Jul 1816 Jasper Co. Ga. He married Margaret "Peggy" (Possibly child of a James Nelson) a 1804. She was born 20 Jul 1787 NC and died 22 Feb 1856 Greene Co. Ga. She married second William Armour of Greene, son of Andrew & Elizabeth Robinson. (Andrew is brother of my John, and sister Jenet was #2 of Wm. Armour)

Disa "Dicey" McMichael born a 1786 Ga died aft 1850. She married John F. Piper born a 1780 Del., died aft 1840 Probably Troup Co Ga.

Jane is probably a child- she married Greene 18 Dec 1805 William Piper Brother of John F.

There may be other children, as no will has ever been found. Some land transactions after John's death are all that is available to tie children to him.

He moved his family to that part of Baldwin which was cut off in 1807..to make Randolph Co. and in 1812 became Jasper. 1807 Oct. 17, Charles married Polly Carmichael Greene Co. Ga.(son of William and Elizabeth)
1808 Jan. 17, Samuel married Dicey Winslett Greene Co. Ga. Greene Co. Ga. 163-109 Jms. McMichaell was qualified as Constable in Capt. Mettins district and gave bond 
security as the law states.

Dear Mrs. Riley
Your letter to clerk of Court of 16th was turned over to me. I found will of John McMichael but did not mention son John-but did grandson- Had son Green L- and grandson John Green Lee. Green L seems was a man of wealth in those days-He- John-did have son Shadraco way spelled in will but later spelled Shadrach-Shadrach wife was named Mary- had several grand 
daughters. Date I believe of will-Nov. 17-1844. Shadrach will dated Aug. 1 1861-Hope some of this hurriedly gotten together record will help you I will be glad to copy will of John McMichael for you if he is the man you so desire.
