MARY ANN KELLY married WILLIAM PINKNEY PERSONS, son of Benjamin Franklin Persons, Jan 17 1800 - Jan 28 1885 and Sarah Williams, grandson of Jones Persons and Diana Neal.  He was born Dec 13 1833 in Jasper County and died June 29 1919 and they were married Dec 22 1853 in Jasper County.  Confederate Marker - Co A, 32nd Regiment, C.S.A., 1st Lieutenant.  Southern Cross of Honor.  He participated in a number of battles but was never injured.  Mary Ann was born March 25 1835 and died June 11 1899.  His will was dated Jan 28 1914 and was probated Aug 11 1919.  He mentions his eight children and his brother, George Persons as well as two negro servants:

        Children of Mary Ann Kelly and William P. Persons:

            1.  Judson Celestia, Oct 5 1854 - Feb 14 1918 married 1872 George Pierce Loyd, 1845-1918.  G. P. Loyd, Southern Cross of Honor, Co E, 53rd Georgia Regiment, Vol. Inf.  He and his wife are buried Payne Cemetery.  They had and Infant son born Sept 16 1879 and died Nov 12 1879; Mary Alma, 1881-1968, married in 1905 Oscar Phillips.; Nancy Estelle Loyd, 1885-1952 married 1914 John Arthur Stone.

            2.  John Benjamin 1857-1941, married 1878 Ella Cornelia Phillips, daughter of John Baptist Monroe Phillips.

            3.  Nancy Ophelia 1858-1935 married 1884 Thomas Middleton Payne.

            4.  Elmira C.  Nov 23 1861 - March 30 1864

            5.  Clara Eugenia 1865-1935 married Eli T. Malone.

            6.  William Franklin, 1867-1960, married Lena Harris.

            7.  Sarah Rebecca, 1872-1925 married Charles Franklin Middlebrooks.

            8.  Mary Elizabeth, 1875-1972, married William Henry Middlebrooks.

            9.  Thomas Burton, 1879-1952 married first Catherine Middlebrooks and married second Bessie Spears Malone.
