JAMES PHILLIPS, born 8/14/1759, died 3/7/1831, was son of JOHN PHILLIPS.  His will was probated 3/14/1831 (Book 10, page 91, Jasper Co, GA.)  He married PHILLIS (PHYLIS) CALLOWAY, as his second wife, 10/24/1817.  He was a Revolutionary Soldier.  James left his wife land in Jasper County, GA.  His first wife was Margaret Sullivant, 1759/1817, Jasper County.

   3.  Wiley, married first Sara Lane and second Lucinda Ann Gilstrap.

   4.   Thomas G., married 5/16/1816, Molly Sessions

   5.  Daniel W., married 3/25/1817, Susannah Harley

   6.  Naomi, born 7/14/1784, Lenoir Co, N.C., married Nathan Fish, 2/20/1802.  Her father left her land in Henry County, GA.,  She died 4/18/1846 in Jasper County.

   7.  Rhoda (Rhody) born 7/14/1784, married John Hardy

   8.  Agnes, married 10/9/1817, James Sessions.

3.  WILEY PHILLIPS, 9/19/1792-8/4/1875, died in Jasper County, married first Sara Sally Lane, 4/3/1816, who was born 3/20/1797 died 8/8/1823, age 25.  (Will Book 14, page 385).  He married second Lucinda Ann Gilstrap, 2/17/1825 who was born 1/21/1811, died 6/15/1848.  Green Phillips and John B. M. Phillips, sons, were executors of will signed 3/3/1869.

            Eliza A., 5/10/1820 - 5/16/1860, married 1/3/1839, J. F. N. Huddleston.

            John Baptist Monroe, Capt., C.S.A., born 9/13/1823, died 4/23/1892, married first Catherine B. Freeman, 2/9/1847 and married second Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Preston Kimball McDowel.

            Eveline Columbia, born and died 3/1827

            Andrew Jackson, 1829 - 1831

            Wiley Rufus, born 11/25/1830, married 1/5/1854, Rebecca Pritchett

            Elmira C., 11/17/1832-5/10/1866, age 33, married William Malone, son of Francis Malone and Martha Chaffin, 11/11/1849

            Sara Jane, born 12/6/1834 married 1852, Andrew Jackson Freeman

            Emily A. V., born 1836 married 1853 Andrew J. Smith

            Missouri M., born 1836 married 1853, Harvey W. Todd.  She and Emily were twins.

            Bryant G., 10/8/1843-12/14/1868 married Elmira Malone

            Roxey Ann Lucinda, 1847-1848

JOHN BAPTIST MONROE PHILLIPS, buried Freeman Cemetery, Bethel Rd., Jasper County, GA., married first Catherine B. Freeman and second Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Preston Kimball McDowell, widow of D. T. Kimball who died 1892, and widow of Daniel McDowell.  Mrs. McDowell and J. B. M. Phillips were married 12/16/1869.  Catherine Freeman, died 4/23/1869 buried Freeman Cemetery.  All children by first marriage:  J.B.M. Phillips was married first 2/9/1847, Jasper County, where he was born and died.  Katherine was daughter of Mary and Bailey Freeman,  she was born 10/22/1829.

ISSUE:

Wiley Hartwell, 1849/1897, married Emma Eliza Pulley in 1869.

Mary (Molly), 1/1/1858-10/31/1940 married 12/16/1879, Lucius Smith Kelly, 1857-1941.

Elmira or Ella Cornelia born 12/1/1878 married John Benjamin Persons, 9/24/1857/3/3/1941.  She was born 1/24/1860 and died 1/26/1941, both buried Westview Cemetery.

Monroe, Jr., born 1866 died 1892 married Ida Mercer

Charles Bailey, born 1848 died age 3

In 1870 Monticello Census, Lane and Fears District, John M. B. Phillips was listed as age 45, farmer, Mary E., 42, keeping house, G.D. McDowell age 12, attending school, Mary G. Phillips age 12 attending school, Hattie B. McDowell age 10 attending school, Ella Phillips age 10, attending school and Monroe Phillips age 4.

Bryant G. Phillips married Ketura Malone.  He was born Monticello 1843 was in Co A, 32nd Ga Regt, C.S.A., buried Homer, LA. 1868

Wiley Jeptha, 7/22/1868-3/24/1929 married 12/27/1896, Corinne Fish, 1/1879-4/1909; he married Maggie Fish, daughter of Nathan and Elmira Fish, 7/29/1867-5/16/1895, wife of Wiley J. Phillips on tombstone Westview.  He married Mamie Pope, 3/19/1876-2/2/1945, buried Westview.

Wiley Hartwell Phillips married Emma Eliza Pulley, 1869 in Baldwin County, GA.  He was born 1849 died 8/17/1897 in Jasper County.  Was a Mason.  She was daughter of Martha Priscilla Leonard and Thomas Kenon Pulley.
