For the purpose of a division between the legatees of Joseph Wilson deceased of the county aforesaid and Abel P. Wilson executor of the said Joseph, did after giving legal notice expose to sale at public outcry before the courthouse door in said county the negroes belonging to said estate on the first Tuesday in January, eighteen hundred and thirty seven. When Abel P. Wilson became the highest and last bidder at the price of sum of twenty three hundred and five dollars for four negroes; Sary, about forty three or four years of age, Nancy a woman about forty years of age and her child about one year old by the name of Daniel and Steven a man about twenty six years of age.
Now for and in consideration of the aforesaid sum of twenty three hundred and five dollars in hand the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold as aforesaid the said negroes, wiz, Sarah, Nancy, Daniel and Steven and Abel P. Wilson executor of aforesaid will warrant and forever defend the right and title of said negroes unto Abel P. Wilson his heirs administrators and assigns. In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this eighteenth day of January 1838.
