Deed A.P. Wilson from James S. Johnson

 

Deed to A.P. Wilson in Jasper County, Georgia from James S. Johnson of Alabama because of intermarriage with Nancy Wilson (widow of Joseph A. Wilson) for $125.00 containing 147 acres in Jasper County, Georgia.  Dated January 3, 1840

Whereas James S. Johnson of Alabama by intermarriage with Nancy Wilson (widow of Joseph A. Wilson deceased and thereby became one of the legatees of said estate and this day think proper and do hereby bargain and sell the same to Abel P. Wilson of the state and county first above written.

 

Witnesseth that for an in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to the said James S. paid by the said Abel P. Wilson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged James S. hath bargained and sold unto the said Abel P. his heirs and assigns all his share or legacy or one fifth part of a certain tract or parcel of land whereon the said Joseph A. Wilson did live situated lying and being in the county and state first above written on the head waters of murder creek adjoining lands of Crawford Jackson and others which lot contains one hundred and forty seven acres more or less to have and to hold said share or legacy in said tract or parcel of land to the said Abel P. his heirs and assigns. I the said James S. do warrant and defend the said premises against any lawful claim or claims whatsoever in fee simple unto the said Abel P. his heirs and assigns against any claim whatsoever.

 

Given under my hand and seal this third day of January eighteen hundred and forty.
