This indenture made and entered into this the eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between John L. Pennington of the County of Randolph and State of Georgia of the one part and Joseph Wilson of the county of Jackson and the state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that said John L. Pennington for an in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Wilson the receipt whereof he doth acknowledge, hath bargained, sold and delivered and by these presence doth bargain sell and deliver unto the said Joseph Wilson his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred sixty two and a half acres more or less being part of lot number one hundred and ninety two in sixteenth district of Baldwin, now Randolph County, beginning at a post oak stand running north 45 E 45C to a post oak stake thence N 45 W 45C to a post oak stake thence S45 to a new stake corner thence turning on a overmarked line parallel with the other lines to a post oak corner standing near the said Penningtons fence thence a long said fence about ten rods to a pin corner thence turning S45 W along a new marker line to a chestnut corner on the original line thence turning a long said line to the beginning stake corner. All and singular the rights and appurtenances belonging to the said parcel of land only about four feet around including said Penningtons grave yard which I do not sell which above mentioned land I do forever warrant and defend until the said Wilson, his heirs and assigns forever from myself, my heirs and assigns and every other person. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
