MAY BELLE BRADWELL OBITUARY: 1891

A Sad Death
Miss May Belle Bradwell Passes Away

Just One Month's Residence in Their New
Home in this City, and Death Casts
His Shadow over the Threshold

Miss May Belle Bradwell, daughter of State School Commissioner S.D. Braswell, died yesterday morning. The death is one of the saddest that has occurred in this city in a long while.

Just one month ago Mr. Bradwell brought his family from their old home, in Hinesville, to their new residence, No. 274 Whitehall street. Miss Bradwell, who was the eldest daughter, was in excellent health and spirits, and made many friends among her her acquaintances. Two weeks ago she was stricken with influenza, but the case was not such a serious nature as to cause harm.

She was tenderly nursed and treated by the most skilled physicians, and seemed in a fair way to recover. A few days ago, however, erysipelas developed. From the effects of this she sank rapidly until her death yesterday.

Miss Bradwell was in her twenty-second year. She was born and reared in Hinesville, where she attended school at Hinesville academy. Afterwards she was sent to Staunton, Va., where she graduated. She developed musical talents of a very high order, and was given the benefit of the best culture and training.

She was the idol of the household, and her charming personality won her friends and admirers everywhere. The body will be sent to Hinesville for interment, probably on Tuesday. Her younger sister, who is attending Boston Conservatory of Music, has been telegraphed for, and the funeral will not occur until her arrival.

In the death of their beloved daughter Mr. and Mrs. Bradwell have the deepest sympathies of the people of the city.
