BROWN, BURDINE, BURDYNE posted by Carol Ann Burdine on Tuesday, January 5, 1999

I am searching for information on the children of Reginald BURDYNE, who settled in Madison County, Georgia 1803. Their names were Richard, Jeremiah, John, Nancy (BROWN) and William. Looking also for descendants of Henry BURDYNE/BURDINE, whose connection to the others is unknown, he possibly had a son James Oglethorpe BURDINE. Also looking for information on Joseph E. BROWN who was the Govenor of Georgia during the Civil War. He was descended from a daughter of Richard BURDYNE and Catherine, parents of Reginald, Barbara GRESHAM (GRISSOM). I am currently gathering information to write a book on the history of the BURDINE family. Thank you for any help. Carol Ann

The information if the 1st query I posted 5 January 1999 is correct, except I put Madison County, Georgia. As far as I can determine my BURDINES were only in Wilkes County, Georgia. From there the majority of families migrated to Madison County, Alabama. While a few remained in Georgia. Thank you, Carol Ann

COLLEY posted by Peggy Brooks on Friday, January 8, 1999

The 1830 census for Georgia Colleys shows the following in Madison County: Edward, James, John, Sarah, & Zachariah. I am thinking that the last three listed above may be siblings of Jonathan Colley of Oglethorpe Co, son of James Colley. I also believe Edward & James to be related to Jonathan in some way also. Thanks in advance for your input.

WALTON posted by Charles Moore on Sunday, January 31, 1999

I am looking for relatives of my mother's family. Her death certificate list her parents as Ran Walton and Susan Watson. In the 1900 census we found Ran Walton with a wife name Mary. He was born in 1850 and Mary in 1855. We can not find any records of Susan anywhere. Could Susan and Mary be the same person. In 1900 Ran and Mary had four children. Annie age 15, Susie age 14, a son name Plump age 10, and Joe age 8. My mother told me she was the oldest being born around 1874. The two sister she spoke of were named Sinia and Sally. Please answer if anyone has any information. I have some missing links to fill. Thank you
