Company B, 61st Georgia Infantry
The men from Montgomery Co. who enlisted in Company B, the "Tattnall Rangers", formed in August 1861.
- William M. Grant, private, enlisted August 31, 1861; died of typhoid fever, Jekyll Island, February 3, 1862.
- John T. Sharpe Sr., sergeant, enlisted August 31, 1861; transferred to Company K; surrendered at Appomattox, April 9, 1865, at age 37. He was born in Tattnall County, April 8, 1827. He was one of only five men of this company still with the regiment when they left the trenches of Petersburg, VA on April 2, 1865.
- Nathan Sharpe, enlisted August 31, 1861, private; died of phrenitis at the Lynchburg, VA hospital, August 10, 1862. He was 30 and left a widow Martha.
- Jackson S. Yeomans, private, enlisted August 31, 1861; wounded in the Wilderness, May 5, 1864; captured Petersburg, March 25, 1865; released June 30, 1865. He was born in Emanuel County, June 13, 1840.
