Company H, 20th Georgia Infantry
Company H, "Telfair Volunteers," 20th Georgia Infantry, Benning's Brigade, "Ol Tige" Anderson's Division, Army of Northern Virginia, was formed in May 1861 in Telfair County from men recruited from Telfair, Montgomery, Wilcox, Coffee, Appling, Pulaski and other counties. They fought at Seven Pines, May 31, 1862; Seven Days Battles from Cold Harbor to Malvern hill; Second Manassas; Sharpsburg; Frederickburg; Chancellorsville; Gettysburg; Chickamauga; Fort Saunders, Knoxville, TN; Fort Gilmer, VA; Wilderness, May 5-7, 1864; Spotsyvania Courthouse, May 1864; Cold harbor, June 3, 1864; Petersburg to Appomattox Courthouse, April 9, 1865. They were among the defenders of the infamous "Stone Bridge" or "Burnside Bridge" at the Battle of Sharpsburg (Antietam), MD.

Levi Hall, enlisted May 1861, private; wounded Chickamagua, September 19, 1863. (William L. Hall ?, private, promoted to 2nd sergeant, December 17, 1864; wounded near Richmond, March 11, 1865; surrendered at Appomattox, April 9, 1865.)

James T. Mozo, enlisted July 10, 1861, private; deserted April 2, 1864 and was sent north of the Ohio River by the Union Army.
Julian H. Nail, enlisted May 1861, private; discharged for disability, August 20, 1861, at age 30.
George W. Nash, enlisted July 6, 1861, private; discharged because of disability, December 20, 1861, at age 25.
