John Thomas ELLIOTT was my great grandfather. He was the son of Elisha Elliott (b.3/12/1827) of Newton County, GA and Elizabeth Ann STANTON (b. 12/7/1835)of Walton County,GA. John Thomas Elliott was born 7/23/1860 in Newton County, GA. If this seems to be the same John Thomas Elliott that you're looking for, I have a little bit more about him and can go way on back (1608) with the Stanton family.

Does anyone have family information about the Jesse BRYAN who is listed on the 1830 and 1840 censuses for Newton Co ? There was also a James H. BRYAN in Newton Co. in 1840 who may be the same James H. BRYAN listed in Henry Co. in 1830. There is a Samuel J. BRYAN in Newton Co. in 1840, too. I would like to hear from someone who has descendancies from any of these men. Thanks,

I am researching a group of Turners families that were in Henry co. Ga around 1830. My ancestor is Edward Turner b 1778 SC d 1865 pike Co. Ga. I believe he is a member of a family whose earliest documented member is James Turner, Sr. "from" VA. James and his sons were in Hancock co. Ga by 1883 before migrating to other counties about 1801. During the Revolution, this group is documented to have been in SC. Some of the family group were in Henry county by 1828. Edward is listed in the 1830 Census. If anyone is wishes in exchanging information about the Turners families in Henry co. Ga I would be very interested. Thank you, Nancy Turner Grogan

Moses was my gggg-grandfather. I also have one more query. Moses' daughter, Mary Early Newton (b. 1795) married James Marcellus Johns in 1820. James was born in 1785. I'm wanting to know his history but haven't been able to find anything. Thanks in advance for your help. Maria Johns Brown Richmond Hill, GA

I'm researching the William (son John Henry Wells m Margaret Charity Oliver); Littleton Long (daugher Eliza Jane m John Alexander Wells); Samuel Oliver and John Newsome families who lived in Newton before it became Rockdale and Walton Counties during the 1800's. Some names associated with the John Henry Wells family, spouses of sisters and daughters were: Harris; Henderson & Hall; Blake Blankenship; Lard; Reagan; Dial; Butler; Ragan; McDuffy. There is a possible connection between the William Wells and Joseph Wells families. The Newsome family moved to Gwinnett and are associated with: Guess (or Guest); White; Ford. Thanks.
