BROOKS, MOORE posted by William C Brooks on Tuesday, June 12, 2001

I am looking for my great grandfather J.N.BROOKS(we believe the J. stands for JOHN)and his wife NANCY(we believe her maiden name was MOORE.) Their son,ALEXANDER HAMILTON BROOKS,was born in (or around) Gainesville on June 26, 1872. According to the 1790-1890 GA Census (accessed through Ancestry.com, there was a J.N.BROOKS in Newton Co.GA (Conyers P.O.)in 1860(p.534, Federal Population Schedule - GA1860 Federal Census Index: GA37016873) Are there any records on J.N. other than the census record? Does the census list a wife and children, or any other information? What is the cost to have a search made, and what is the procedure? Thank you for your help. William C. Brooks
