Lewis Graveyard
Directions: Lewis Graveyard is
located on Coach Bobby Dodd Road in Dallas. This cemetery holds the
graves of eight known Confederate Soldiers from the "Orphan Brigade"
of Kentucky. There are also approximately 16 to 18 graves that are
marked only with field stones, most appear to be marked with head and
foot stones. There is also one small childs grave in the back right
hand corner. The soldiers died at the Battle
of NewHope/Dallas, May 25 - 28, 1864.
Note: Approximately 16 to 18
graves, three are child size, the others are adult size could quite
possibly be more Confederate Soldiers.
