Mrs. George Hopper buried Saturday. Funeral services for Mrs. George Carrol Hopper were held at Columbia Saturday morning, July 7, 1936. Interment following in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hopper had been in declining health for several months and her death Friday morning was not unexpected. Rev. H. H. Parrish, of Barwick, conducted the final rites, which were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. Pallbearers were Messrs. W. R. Knight, Edward Barrs, C. I. Knight, W. H. Ferrell, Russell Johnson, and Leadley Smith.
Mrs. Hopper was one of the best loved women in Brooks County. She was a devoted mother and kind neighbor. Her beautiful Christian life is worthy of emulation by the mothers of today. The Hopper home was noted for its kind hospitality. Many Ministers and Christian workers were beautifully entertained in their home. Since the deayh of her husband several years ago, Mrs. Hopper had managed her farming interest. The Quitman Advertiser joins the numerous friends and in extending profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
