    I am looking for any information about my family, in the late 1800s and the early 1900s. The surnames are ROBINSON, GRIER, ELLIS, NICHOLS, SHEDRICK, GARNER, WILSON and JONES. They are all from Cuthbert.
    I am also interested in any information , and the location of the "Moye Place". I believe this was a plantation during slavery and I believe some of my family worked there as sharecroppers around 1900 - 1920. Thanks for any help.

    I am searching for information about the Hale family that lived in Randolph County 1870 - 1925-26. My great grandmother is buried there and I'm trying to find the grave site and the home place. Her name was Mahala Hale. She is said to be of Cherokee or Creek decent. She had a son. His name was Andrew Jackson Hale born 1854-55. He married Lou Norris. The family moved to LaGrange Georgia in 1925-26. Mahala Hale died between 1900 and 1925-26. Thanks for any information anyone has.

    I am looking for info on William JOHNSON who was born I believe in Randolph County, in 1798. His wife was named Margaret JOHNSON (maiden name unknown). I am also looking for info on his son who was named William J. JOHNSON, born 1826 in Randolph County. His wife was named Mary B. JOHNSON (maiden name unknown). By my records, William J. JOHNSON migrated to the Enterprise, Ala. area in 1860. Any help you can provide regarding these folk with their parents/grandparents and children would be appreciated.

    FULTON / FULTONS / SAWYER (04/24/97)
    Looking for parents/siblings of Margaret FULTON (b. Feb 13, 1837, died Nov 25, 1891). She married Samuel SAWYER (1831-1764) in Randolph Co., Ga. on Jan 14, 1858. Two children were born to Margaret FULTON and Samuel SAWYER: Enoch (b. April, 1859) and Samuel Lamantha (1862-1927). Margaret FULTON is possibly the daughter of James FULTON (b. abt 1795 in Scotland), and Mary ? of Randolph Co. Ga. I suspect that James FULTON was the son of John FULTON and Margaret McKELLAR of Randolph Co. I would like confirmation of this also. Any response welcome with info of FULTONSs or SAWYERs.

    I am trying to find information on Thomas D. TAYLOR, born May 17, 1837 in Ga. Married Eliza BLACKMAN, daughter of Jesse, on April 16, 1861 in Randolph Co. He died March 31, 1864 and is buried in the Calloway Family Cem. in Trinity community. I would like to know who were his parents. The daughter, and only child, of Thomas D. TAYLOR was Mary Louisa, born Feb. 22, 1863 and married William Jesse OLIVER on Dec. 13, 1877 in Randolph Co. I am happy to share any information I have on the above families. This Thomas D. Taylor is a real mystery to me though!

    My Greatgrandfather was George T(Taylor, Tylor, or Thomas) WOOD, b. March 12, 1795, in Cuthbert County, Georgia. In 1814, at the age of 19, he raised a company of men to fight the Creek War in the battle of Horseshoe Bend in Alabama. He was a merchant in Cuthbert and a state senator. In 1837, he went to Texas, where in 1847, he became the second governor of the state. Would love to find information. Thank you.

    My grandmother, Henrietta GRIMES, was born in Shellman Ga., Randolph County in 1857. Her mother died at the time of my grandmother's birth and her father, Jehu GRIMES, or J.M. GRIMES, was killed or died in prison during the civil war. Grandmother was brought to Texas as an infant by members of the Jesse GRIMES family. Some relatives named BRYAN raised my grandmother in Branchville, TX in Milam County.
    Jesse GRIMES, for whom Grimes County, TX is named, was a signer of Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico. He came to Texas from NC or SC via Alabama. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

    Seeking any info on James Adolphus WHALEY or Wilkins Davis WHALEY who settled in Randolph County in 1832.(?) They settled on the line of Randolph and Cleveland County and built a grist mill on Turkey Creek. In 1832, James Adolphus WHALEY erected a small wooden building called Mt. Zion Church which is now known as Pearce Chapel. This building was erected on the WHALEY plantation. Children of James Adolphus WHALEY are:

    I would like to exchange information with anyone knowledgeable of Melody ARNOLD (b. Sep 7, 1817 NC; d. after Sep 7, 1895 Randolph Co., Ga.) Her Indian War Widows Pension Claim states "I will be 78 years old the 7th of Sept 1895 ... James HOGAN was previously married to Rebecca PAULK of Stewart Co, GA. ... My husband, James HOGAN died in Taylor Co, FL the 19th of January 1879". Melody did not remarry and came back to Randolph Co, Ga. after the death of her husband. They had a son Joseph B. HOGAN (abt 1860).
