WOOD (11/07/97)
I have been studying one of the governors of Texas. His name was George T. WOOD. He was born in the mid-1790's, and was raised and lived in Cuthbert. I am looking for his father who died in 1800 and was buried in or just outside of Cuthbert. Of course, Randolph County was not created until 1828, but I would think the records in the courthouse at Cuthbert would have information on his father. George T. WOOD moved to Texas with his family and his mother in the late 1830's. He, his wife, his mother and children are buried in Texas. But I would like to find out where his father is buried and find out his name?

MARTIN / NUTT (11/21/97)
Martha NUTT, my ggg-grandmother, was the widow of James Patrick MARTIN. She and her sons migrated to Randolph County from Washington County about 1840. One son was John Nutt MARTIN who moved to Bienville Parish, LA in 1849. Another son was James Hiram MARTIN, my gg-grandfather, who migrated to Natchitoches Parish, LA after 1850. Any info on Martha and her ancestors would be appreciated. I am sure she died in Randolph County.

PIERCE / STATHAM (11/30/97)
My great-great grandmother Jacqelyn PIERCE, born Jan. 8, 1849 in Cuthbert, Randolph County, Georgia, died Dec. 25, 1927 in Kaufman County, Texas. Married Dec. 31, 1864 in Randolph County to Martin Vanburen STATHAM. It is believed that Jacqelyn was married before because on the marriage certificate it gave her name as Mrs. Jacqelyn PIERCE. Any information on these two families would be helpful.
