COOPER / HARVELL (09/03/01)
Searching for more information on the family of Elizabeth HARVELL and John W. COOPER. She was born about 1824 in Georgia (?) and married John W. COOPER on 4/8/1841 in Randolph County, Ga. He was born 1820 in Georgia (?). I believe he was the son of Robert COOPER from North Carolina. They are on the 1850 Stewart Co.,Ga census with 5 kids (I have a copy) and the 1860 Decatur Co., Ga census (I have a copy). By 1870, she is still in Decatur Co. with 2 of the girls but he is not listed (asssumed he died between 1860-1870). Elizabeth and John are my gggrandparentes. Would love to share/compare info if any of this sounds familiar. Thanks, Stephanie McCormick

HARDAWAY / SNOW (09/03/01)
THE SEARCH CONTINUES-

Daniel Holcombe HARDAWAY & Elizabeth SNOW married in Randolph Co. GA on 05 Jan 1851. After only about 7 years of marriage, she died in GA. Where is she buried? Where are the descendants of her siblings? Elizabeth's father: Elias(or Eli?) SNOW; brothers: James M., John R., & Levi ?; sisters: Nancy, Mary Ann, & M.J.(Martha Jane?)?

Please share your information about this couple, or his 2 brothers & wives, who all migrated to Texas around 1858:

John Madison HARDAWAY & Rebecca (MCGOWAN?);

James Jefferson HARDAWAY & Mary Adeline TYE;

They are last enumerated in the Randolph Co. Ga census, 8th District, in 1850.

Elizabeth & Daniel HARDAWAY had 4 children, all born in Georgia:

Jessy, Thomas, Lavenia Elizabeth, and Amanda Isabella.

Between 1860-1870 the brothers Daniel & John met their demise. Our families have never known what happened to them.

The 2 missing men were last enumerated on the 1860 Upshur Co. TX census, and no known records exist after that. Their names have not been found listed on the muster rolls for CSA.

SNOWS & HARDAWAYS.....please write to me.....I am waiting eagerly to hear from you! The Texas descendants wish to learn more about their Georgia roots.
