CALLAHAN (05/08/02)
My grandfather was Elias CALLAHAN born in Bibb County Alabama in 1856. I notice another Elias CALLAHAN in Coleman Georgia (Randolph Co.) born in 1880s from soc. sec. records. Were there other CALLAHANs living in Randolph Co. prior to Elias? Possibly related?

BAILEY (05/14/02)
Bryan BAILEY b. 1806 married to Teresa (aka Theresa, Terrisan, Clarisa, and Lucy) JOHNSTON was in Randolph County for the 1850 census.

Children were Quincy P. born 1830; Berrien F. (my ggf) born 1832; Martha Ann born 1836; and Susannah born 1842. Frances JOHNSTON who is believed to be Teresa's sister was living with Bryan at the time of the census.

Almost every name in the family is mis-spelled in the 1850 census with Bryan listed as Benj.

Looking for parents and siblings of Bryan and any other info on the family.

BAILEY (05/24/02)
Susannah BAILEY b.1842 in Randolph or Houston County, daughter of Bryan BAILEY b. 1806 and Teresa JOHNSTON b. 1808, was in Randolph County for the 1850 census living with her parents.

The family migrated to Winn Parish, La. in 1857, but Susannah is not on the 1860 census. Can locate no records on her after 1850.

Looking for any details on Susannah.

Might add that 4 of the names on the 1850 census were mis-spelled almost beyond recognition so that it is possible her name is not Susannah.

AARON / BUTLER / FAIN / PHILYAW / WRIGHT (05/25/02)
I recently found a death notice for A.W. FAIN on Aug 12, 1925 in Randolph Co. GA

My greatgrandfather by the same name disappeared about that time and I'm wondering if this could be him. His full name was Ansel Watkins FAIN and he fought for the CSA in the 6th Ga Calvary.

He married Sarah Missouri BUTLER from MS and was originally from Floyd Co. GA.

If anyone could please check this for me I would be greatly appreciative.

COLEMAN / IVEY / MURCHISON / SMITH / STRICKLAND (05/31/02)
The 1880 Randolph Co. Census, lists Charles and Green COLEMAN in the home of James and Elizabeth STRICKLAND. Their relationship to the head of household is nephews. The boys are the sons of Elisha and Versy MURCHISON. I am trying to determine if Elizabeth STRICKLAND is Versy's sister.

Elizabeth married James STRICKLAND probably about 1874 and Versy married Elisha COLEMAN about the same time. As they lived in Randolph Co. GA, I am assuming they married there.
