CRITTENDEN (09/03/02)
I am seeking general family and historical information on Cincinnatis D. CRITTENDEN who moved to Dale County, Alabama in 1861--and who moved back to Shellman, Georgia about 1870. I have been told that Judge CRITTENDEN was against secession in the Georgia Secessionist convention, and when Georgia seceded (January, 1861) he bought a plantation here in Dale County, Alabama, and moved his entire family, slaves, etc., until the Civil War was over. I would appreciate any information about him in books, articles, or other citations you can give me. I am an 82-year old amateur historian who wrote the only local county history some years back. Thank you for any help you can give me.
