Funeral services will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral home at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with the Rev GM Rainey, officiating. Burial will be in West View cemetery.

Pallbearers will be WR Reeves, Joe Reeves, WH Gilstrap, Rueben Daniel, JR Hays, and Rosco McGahee.

Mrs Bowman is survived by a brother, Ramsey Reeves, a sister, Miss Ada Reeves both of  Augusta, a sister in law, Mrs Jessie Reeves, Graniteville, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Mary T Boysworth, 76, widow of the late John J Boysworth died at the residence, 345 Telfair Street yesterday morning at 2:25 o'clock after an illness of one week.

Mrs Boysworth was a native of Abbeville County, SC, but had made her home in Augusta for the past 23 years where she was widely known and highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends. She was an active and prominent member of the St James Church and her life as a gentle Christian woman and her devotion to her home and children were outstanding characteristics which won for her, the admiration of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at St James Methodist Church, of which she was a devout member, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dr JW Quillian, pastor of the church will officiate and interment will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs Boysworth is survived by three daughters, Mrs JL Ergle, Mrs AP Timmerman, and Mrs JR Jennings, all of Augusta; one brother, OP Boysworth of Columbia, SC, one sister, Mrs MN Steele of Jacksonville, Fla; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be John R Fulmer, CA Dennis, RB Winlock, Clarence Powell, Will Albea

Honorary pallbearers will be WM Welborn, RJ Maxwell, GG Bignon, Rev TM Sullivan Raymond Hargrove, Dr WT Huson, JL Bearden, BH Walker, BP Herndon and JG Chafee.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 4pm at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with the Rev Guy Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

A native of Barnwell County, SC, he had lived in Augusta for most of his life. He was a merchant.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs Ruth Elizabeth Boysworth Cartin, Augusta; two sons, Daniel McCoy Cartin III, Augusta, and David Lee Cartin, Jackson, SC; two daughters, Mrs. Richard D. Reese, Augusta, and Mrs. Jimmy L. Norris, Lyons, GA; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Cartin Sims,
Williston, SC; four brothers, Odell Cartin and Austin A Cartin, Williston, Cecil R. Cartin, Martinez, and Jennis B. Cartin, Atlanta; four sisters, Mrs Clero O;Tourke, Evans, GA, Mrs. Leona Sawyer, Columbia, Mrs. Ennis E. Thomas, Martinez, and Mrs EA Koon, Evans.

Pallbearers will be JH Parker, JC Ralph, WG King, JW Bynes, EW Smith and HA James. The funeral cortege will leave Elliott's Funeral Home.

Mrs Clark, a resident of Augusta for 35 years, is survived by four stepsons, James and Jesse Clark, both of Fitzgerald, GA; Haywood Clark of Barnesville, Ga and Charlie Clark of Augusta; two stepdaughters, Mrs Lillie Boysworth and Mrs CJ Johnson, both of Augusta; two nephews,
WE Worsham and FW Worsham, both of Augusta; and three nieces, Mrs RM Griffin, Mrs CA Clark and Miss Olivia Worsham, all of Augusta.

Charlie O. Clark, 56 year old Augusta textile worker, was found shot to death Sunday afternoon in the home of a friend on the levee bank. Coroner Nathan E. Widener said Clark had killed himself by firing a 22 caliber rifle into his mouth.

William A. Elliott, criminal investigator in the Sheriff's Dept. said Clark had spent the night with Charles Palmer whose home is on the river bank. Shortly after 1 pm, Elliott related, Palmer drove some members of his family to the downtown section, leaving Clark alone in the house.

On his return to the levee area, Palmer found his friend in the kitchen, dead from the self inflicted bullet wound, Elliott related.

The coroner said a not addressed to Mrs. Clark was found in the dead man's car. It indicated he said, that "domestic difficulties" may have upset Clark. The note also outlined disposition of his property among his survivors.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles E. Clark, of Augusta; three daughters, Mrs. D.A. Stroble and Mrs. L.H. Hall of Augusta and Mrs. E.L. Hasse, Jr. of Burt, Iowa; two brothers, Jesse J. and Hayward Clark, both of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Clark was born in Augusta, the son of the late C.O. and Mary Ford Clark. He had lived in the city his entire life. Funeral arrangements incomplete Sunday night, will be announced by Elliott Sons.

Pallbearers will be Herman Blanford, JP Price, JW Byned, HC Ralph, CC Carey and WJ King.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr Will Jenning, HT Farris, WR Johnston, JC Rachels, Richard E  Allen, Clifford Steed, Ralph Gay, PK Tant, Sweeney Sikes and Chief John Kennedy.

Mr. Clark was born in Hamburg, SC and has lived in this community all of his life, the major part of which was spent in Augusta. He had been active in public life and was prominent in civic and religious affairs.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Mrs Annie Irene Worsham Clark; five sons, William Jessie J, and James Clark, Fitzgerald, GA; Haywood Clark, Barnesville, GA and Charles C. Clark, Jr, Graniteville, SC; two daughters, Mrs Lillie Boysworth, and Mrs CJ Johnson, both of Augusta; 21
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Douglas L. Cunningham, Augusta; a brother, George Cunningham Jr., Augusta; a sister, Virginia Delascia, Augusta; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the residence of Virginia Delascia, 3149 Floyd Drive.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road. 

Funeral services for George B. Cunningham Sr. of 3119 Peach Orchard Road, who died Saturday, will be held today at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Poteet Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert D. Bradham officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Part.

Pallbearers will be Robert Cunningham, Samuel Easter, Henry Dukes, Benny Dukes, Mike Isdell, Hugo Dukes and David Dukes.
Friends may call at the residence of his, 2706 Milledgeville Road, or at the funeral home

Hugh Mclaws Cunningham husband of Mrs. Henrietta Ella Cunningham, died in Tallahassee Fla. Feb 22, 1960, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at the graveside in Tallahassee, Feb. 23, with Mattison Hurt of Robert Butler Lodge F,& A,M, officiating. Interment was in Tallahassee. Mr. Cunningham, who was 73, was formerly of Augusta, having been educated in Augusta Schools, He was Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Crawford of Kenner, La; four grandchildren; three brothers, J.P. Cunningham, R.J. Cunningham and George B. Cunningham of Jacksonville, Fla: two sisters.  Mrs. E. C. Hobbs and Miss Georgia Cunningham of Augusta; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Adelaide Dukes Cunningham 65, wife of George B. Cunningham Sr. of  3119 Peach Orchard Road died Friday in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert D. Bradham officiating. Burial Will Be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. She was a native of Branchville S.C. and had lived most of her life in Augusta.  She was a member of the Lyndon Grove Presbyterian Church, the Rosemary chapter of  Eastern Star and the Loyal Workers Council No. 341 Daughters of America.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters. Mrs. Catherine Dixon and Mrs. Virginia Dilascia, both of Augusta, and Mrs. S. E. (Mary) Harter, Ninety Six S.C.: two sons, George B. Cunningham Jr. and B.L. Cunningham both of Augusta; three Sisters. Mrs. W.J. Rosamond Sr., Mrs. A.E. Kellett and Mrs. Gertrude Winkes all of Augusta and one brother Mars C. Dukes Augusta. Friends may call at the Poteet Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Edward Dixon, David Dukes, Bennie Dukes, Henry S. Dukes, Sammy Easter and Hugo Dukes.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Ann Cunningham, wife of George Barnes Cunningham, who died at the residences, 820 Third Street, at 10:30  o’clock on Friday night, will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, with Dr. J.R Saviar, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating and internment will follow in the City Cemetery. The deceased is survived by her husband, George Barnes Cunningham and one daughter Catherine Cunningham.  The following gentlemen will act as pallbearers: Jamie Murphey, John Ganter, Frank Cheesboruough, Charlie Bramlett, Charlie Connor, J.C. Yearly, J.W. Bowiak, Sr. and Eugene Mattberson

Graveside services will be at 3pm Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Michael B. McCormick officiating.

Mrs DeWeen a native of Callahan, Fla, had lived in Augusta for 35 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert DeWeen; three daughters, Edith Louise Hall, Augusta,Kathy Ellen Ison, North Augusta, and Lisa Kay Owens, Anderson, SC.; two sisters, Lucinda Scaddings, Clearwater, SC, and Lois Black, Augusta; and three brothers Leonard Thompson, Callahan, Robert Thompson, Jesup and Edwin Thompson, Waycross.

Friends may call at Poteet Funeral Home, Green Street.

Mrs Helen Louise Boysworth DeWeen, 19, of 442 Cottage street died at a local infirmary early yesterday morning.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Elliott Sons.

Surviving Mrs DeWeen are her husband, Edward J DeWeen, Jr; a son, Edward J DeWeen III; mother, Mrs Lillie B Williamson; father, RB Boysworth; brother, Bobbie Boysworth; two sisters, Mrs Bessie Sweatman and Miss Ruth Boysworth, all of Augusta.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Magnolia Cemetery this morning at 11:00.

Besides his parents, the infant is survived by one brother, E.J. DeWeen III, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. DeWeen, Sr., maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lilly Boysworth, Augusta.

Mr. Robert DeWeen, 86, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at University Hospital. Graveside services will be at 3pm, Wednesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Allen McDonald officiating.

Mr. DeWeen, a lifelong resident of Augusta, had retired as a chemical operator from Philadelphia Quartz.
Survivors include three daughters, Edith Louise DeWeen, Katherine Ellen Neal and Lisa Kay Jennings, all of Augusta; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today at Poteet Funeral Home, Greene St.

Mrs. Catherine Cunningham Dixon, 4384 Fairbluff Road Hephzibah, died Friday at University Hospital Augusta. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street, with the Rev. Maynard Weaver officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery,
Augusta. Mrs. Dixon was a lifelong resident of Richmond County and a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Edward Dixon, Hephzibah, Ernest Dixon, August, Jimmy Dixon, Cummings and Warren Dixon, Fayetteville, five daughters, Dot Isdell and Mytia Willis both of Augusta, Nancy Busby and Jamie Dixon, both of Hephzibah  and Evelyn Tuten, Magnolia Texas; two sisters Mary Harter, Ninety Sic S.C. and Virginia Dilascia, August, and two Brothers George Cunningham and Lewis Cunningham, both
of August.  Sons in law will be pallbearers

Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

A native of McCormick, SC, Mrs. Eanes had lived in Augusta for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Georgia Boysworth Palmer, both of South Carolina families.

Mrs. Eanes retired as Summerville exchange chief operator for Southern Bell Co. She had a perfect Sunday School church attendance record. She was a member of the Pioneers and the Silver Threads.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mae Bignon, Huntington, W VA; a niece, Mrs. E.S. Manning, Atlanta; a nephew, William J. Bignon, Lincolnton; and several other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Otis Minor, Floyd Dively, A. B. Harley, Robert Barbin, Paul Blue and L.A. Cook.

Joseph Lawson Ergle, 59, of 605 Wrights Avenue, died at a local infirmary yesterday morning at 5:15 o'clock after an illness of two weeks.

Funeral services will be held at the St James Methodist Church, of which he was a devout member, this afternoon at 5 o'clock. Dr Wills M Jones will officiate and interment will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be CA Dennis, IR White, Wilbur Powell, WE Templeton, RA Toole & Paul Otis.

Members of the Barton Bible class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The remains will be at the Grealish-Poteet and Walker Funeral home until 11 o'clock this morning, when they will be removed to the residence of his sister in law, Mrs. JR Jennings, 545 Telfair Street.

Mr Ergle was one of the oldest real estate dealers in Augusta. He was a native of South Carolina, the son of Fred Ergle and Mrs Alice Connelly Ergle. He was the widower of the late Mrs Maggie Mae Ergle.

The deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs Paul Anderson of Bath, SC, and Miss Alice Ergle of Langley, SC; two sisters in law, Mrs Jennings and Mrs AP Timmerman; two nieces, Mrs Walter Johnson and Miss Mary Louise Jennings, and two Nephews, OP Boysworth and James R. Jennings, all of Augusta.

Mrs Maggie Mae Ergle, 53, died at her home 605 Wrights Avenue, yesterday morning at 10:15 o'clock after an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at St James Methodist Church this afternoon at 4 o'clock with Rev CL Middlebrook officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be RB Winlock, Arnold Alexander, Arthur Livingston, JE Eubanks, Paul Otis and RA Toole.

Mrs Ergle was a native of Edgefield County, SC, but had been living in Augusta for the pat 35 years. She was a member of the St James Church.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph L Ergle, two sisters, Mrs AP Timmerman, and Mrs JR Jennings, all of Augusta; one brother OP Boysworth of Columbia, SC and two nieces & 2 nephews.

The body will be at the residence of her sisters, Mrs Jennings, 345 Telfair Street until the hour of the funeral.

After an illness extending over a period of several months, Mrs. J. D. Fooshe [sic], age 69 years, died at the family home at Gracewood, shortly after 8 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Fooshe [sic] was born in Greenwood, S.C., Dec. 17, 1848 and previous to her marriage was Miss Mary Fuller.  The funeral arrangements have been for Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence, several member of the family having to come
long distance to attend.  Rev. W. S. Gaines will conduct the funeral exercises and  interment will be in the city cemetery.  The deceased is survived by her husband Mr. J. D. Fooshe [sic], five sons, Messrs. J. F. Fooshe [sic], of Hopewell, Va., Geo W. Fooshe [sic], of Memphis, Fuller W. Fooshe [sic], of St. Paul, Claude R. Fooshe [sic], of Richmond and M. Y. Fooshe [sic] of Charleston; also four daughters, Mrs. Stanford Stith, of Memphis, Mrs. A. B. King, of Goldsboro, NC, Mrs. W. C. Dunn, of Savannah, and Mrs. Ruby F. King, of Augusta, and twelve grand-children. Mrs. Fooshe [sic] was well known in Greenwood, where the family lived until a few years ago, when they moved to Gracewood, near Augusta.  The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fooshe [sic] was celebrated Dec. 30, 1916, when the entire family was present, together will all grand-children, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.  A few months ago when Mrs. Fooshe [sic] was critically ill the
whole family again gathered around her bedside.

The funeral of Mrs. J. D. Fooshe [sic] occurred yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. W. S. Gaines, pastor of the Methodist Church at that place, conducting the services.  Mrs. Fooshe [sic] died Wednesday morning at the age of 69 years. The funeral was attend by sons and daughters from different parts of the country, and a large number of friends and relative.  The floral offerings were most beautiful, and to the bereaved members of the family many expressions of sympathy and condolence were received.  Mrs. Fooshe [sic] was a member of the M. E. Church
and held in high esteem here and in her former home at Greenwood, S.C.  Her charitable work and Christian spirit won for her an innumerable host of friends throughout this section who will greatly miss her loving deeds and words of cheer and encouragement. Her home life was one of the most admirable type and she leaves beside her husband, Mr. J. D. Fooshe [sic], to who she had been married for over fifty-one years, five sons and four daughter, in addition to many grand-children, nieces and nephews.  The interment was in the City Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Fuller Fooshe, wife of Mr. J. D. Fooshe, died at her residence at Gracewood Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock following an illness of six months. She was 69 years old.  Funeral services will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock Rev. W. B. Gaines officiating and interment will be made in the city cemetery here.  Besides her husband, the deceased is survived by five sons and four daughters  as follows: J. Frank Fooshe [sic] of Hopewell, Va.; G. W. Fooshe [sic] of Memphis; F. W. Fooshe [sic] of St. Paul, Minn.; C. R. Fooshe, Richmond, Va.; M. Y. Fooshe of Charleston; Mrs. A. B. [sic] King of Goldsboro, NC; Mrs. Stanford Stith [sic] of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. W. C. Dunn of Savannah and Mrs. R. F. King of Gracewood; also 11 grandchildren. On December 30th last, Mr. Fooshe celebrated her fiftieth wedding anniversary.
