In the name of God, amen, I John Twiggs of the county
of Richmond and the state
aforesaid being weak in body but of sound and happy mind
and memory, blessed
be the Almighty God for the same do make this my last
will and testament.
Item I give and bequesth unto my beloved wife Ruth Twiggs the following property Alin,
Beck, Betsy, Potts, Milla, William, little Ben, Anthony
XXXX, 300 acres pine land
on which I know live, together with my XXX house
and all out houses appertaining
thereto, and all the household furniture belonging to
the same and also my two carriage
horses and four wheel carriage to have hold and enjoy
all the benefits of property
arising therefrom for and during the term of her natural
life, and at the death of my
beloved wife it is my view that the above property both
real and personal to be divided
between my children share and XXXXXX item. I give
and bequeath unto my
beloved sons Abraham Twiggs, George Twiggs, Levi? Twigs,
David Twiggs, Abr
Twiggs and my daughters Sarah Twiggs now Sarah Greenwood
the balance and residual
of both my XXXX and personal estate, to be divided
equally between them, share and
XXXX alike to them their lives for
ever in see simple, and I do now appoint my
beloved wife Ruth Twiggs executrix and my two sons Abr
Twiggs and George Twiggs
my executor of this my last will and testament herby
revoking all forms will by me
made. In testimony wherin I heave herunto my hand
and seal this 26th day of April
1815 and in the 39th year of the independence of the
United States of America.
