Jan 1903 E. A. SOWELL ask forgiveness for violating the rules of this church by allowing dancing in his house.

Nov 1850 The Church of Christ at Middleground met on Saturday before the 4th Lord's Day in November took up the case of Brother David WILLIAMS and Sister Margaret Ann WILLIAMS who was charged with the offense of drinking too much spiritous liquors.
Jan 1851 Recieved a charge against Brother James USHER of drunkness.
April 1851 Took up the case of Brother James USHER who was debarred from all church privileges for 6 months.
Sept 1851 Restored Brother James USHER to fellowship who was under the displeasure of the church.
Dec 1851 Brother Richard PHILLIPS came to the church and made an acknowlegement for shooting Mr. SOWELL.
Jan 1852 Took up the case of Brother Richard PHILLIPS who was charged with killing his fellow man and he was expelled from the church.
July 1852 Recieved by letter bretheren John MORGAN and Miles MOCK.
Dec 1852 Sis Mary B USHER was presented to the church for the offense of bastardy and a committee of 9 bretheren was appointed to investigate her case and upon the request of the committee she was expelled from the church.
Jan 1854 Granted letters of dismission to Brother Robert F THOMPSON and wife and servants and Brother Osburn JEFFERS and wife.
May 1854 Moved and carried that a committee be appointed to examine into the conduct of Brother Sheppard COLSON and cite him to next conference if necessary.
June 1854 Recieved a report from the committee appointed to cite Brother Sheppard Colson and as he was not present said committee was continued by appointing Brother L. M. BROWN in the place of Asa JOHNSON and appointed Brother M SMITH to cite brother Thomas USHER as a witness in the above stated case. Appointed brother John B BOYKIN to cite Brother George MOCK and Sister Celia MOCK to next conference for disorderly conduct. Appointed Brother M MCCALL Jr. to cite Brother William F WATERS to the next conference for same disorderly conduct and having recieved information that some of our brethern and sisters had been guilty of dancing at a ball, appointed a committee to ascertain if possible, the number and names of the guilty and report to next conference, viz Isaac LANIER, P G MCCALL, and William D BROWN, said committee, appointed Brother M N MCCALL to cite Brother Thompson LOWTHER to next conference charge bastardy and adjourned.
July 1854 Took up the case of Brother COLSON and as he was not present his case was suspended appointed comittee to labor with and cite him. Took up the case of Brother and Sister MOCK and the church having recieved satisfactory acknowledgements through their committee J. B. BOYKIN, they were restored to fellowship. Took up the case of Brother William P WATERS who was restored to fellowship. Resolved that dancing is a sin, and that this church will not countenence it in her members. Appointed a committee to cite Sister Francis IVEY, and Brethern William H STEPHENS, James STEPHENS, Levy D CONNER, and James B MORGAN to next conference, Thomas USHER and James M ROBBINS committee, charge dancing. Took up the case of Brother J. T. LOWTHER, and after an investigation of his case he was excommunicated. Granted letters of dismission to Brother William HUNTER and Sister Mary Ann HUNTER and Adjourned.
Aug 1854 Took up the case of Sheppard COLSON, and he was restored. Took up the case of Sister Francis IVEY and she being not present appointed Brother J WHEELER to labor with and cite her to next conference. Took up the case of Brother William H STEPHENS and he being not present appointed bretheren M N MCALL and J. J. BOYD a committee to labor with and site him to next conference. Took up the case of Brother James STEPHENS, and he was expelled from the fellowship of this church. Took up the case of Brother Levy D CONNER, and upon his acknowledgement he was restored to fellowship. Took up the case of Brother James B MORGAN and he being not present, Brother Thomas USHER was appointed to cite him to next conference.
Sept 1854 Letter of dismission to Brother Miles MOCK. Recieved a charge against Brother William F WATERS of drunkness, swearing, fighting and he was excommunicated.
Jan 1855 Granted letters of dismission to Sister Sarah LANIER and Brethren Noel W and Lewis F LANIER
Mar 1855 Granted letters of dismission to A JOHNSON & wife and Sheppard COLSON & wife.
April 1855 A charge being brought against Brother George MOCK and William HYLTON. After an investigation of his case it was unanimously resolved, that Brother HYLTON be exculpated from any charge
by this church. The case of Brethren HYLTON and MOCK in a difficulty layed over. A charge brought against Sister Celia MOCK was layed over, appointed a committee of three to investigate her case and cited the parties to
next conference.
May 1855 Recieved a report from the committee appointed to labor with Brother George MOCK and Sister Celia MOCK and their case was layed over and the same committee continued.
June 1855 Took up the cases of Brother George MOCK and Sister Celia MOCK which was layed over.
July 1855 Took up the cases of Brother George MOCK and Sister Celia MOCK and referred their cases to the following committee J. WHEELER, J. TOOLE, L. M. BROWN, J. J. BOYD, William IVEY, F. J. BOYD, Jacob BEST, L OVERSTREET, James G THOMPSON, H. H. MCGEE, M. N. MCCALL, D. M. LEE, and after a full investigation they were excommunicated. Recieved a charge against Brother James WATERS of swaring, falsehood, & c, and appointed a committee of three to cite him to next conference, as follows, H. H. MCGEE, D. M. LEE, & Thomas MULFORD.
Aug 1855 A charge was brought against bretheren Sheppard COLSON and James USHER for irreligious conduct.
Sept 1855 Took up the case of Brother James USHER called for a committee's report which was recieved Brother USHER denied the charges and his case was layed over. Took up the case of Sheppard COLSON who denied the charges and his case was layed over.
Oct 1855 Took up the case of Brother James USHER'S case and Brother USHER being present was called on to make a statement of his feelings to the church and he manifesting no desire to give satifaction to the church was expelled. Took up Brother Sheppard COLSON'S case, and Brother COLSON was called on to make a statment of his feelings which he did and his case was layed over.
A difficulty exist between Brother William HYLTON, and Brother George MOCK, the following committee was appointed to labor with them, and effect a reconcilation if possible.
Nov 1855 Took up the case of Brother Sheppard COLSON and upon his making satisfactory acknowledgements he was restored
to fellowship in the church. Took up the case of Bretheren HYLTON and MOCK called for committee's report, committee reported no good affected by their efforts and their cases was layed over.
A charge was then brought against Brother George MOCK of drunkness and swearing, and appointed John B BOYKIN and D. M. LEE a committee to cited Brother MOCK to attend next conference, granted letters
of dismission to Sister Margaret Ann GRAHAM.
May 1856 Letter of dismission to Brother Lodowick MOCK.
July 1857 Appointed Samuel L WALKER and David M LEE a committee to ascertain whether or not Brother Levi D CONNER has connected himself with the Methodist Church.
Sept 1857 Letters of dismission to Brother George MOCK & wife Celia, Samuel OVERSTREET and Almedia F OVERSTREET, Martha COLSON, Jane C USHER, William WOODS and Ann WOODS,
Sarah J WALKER, Elizabeth BROWN, Sarah M WILLIAMS, John B BOYKIN and Mary BOYKIN, Rev. J. TOOLE, Sarah TOOLE Sr., Sarah TOOLE Jr., William J TOOLE,
Isaac TOOLE and James TOOLE. Whereas it has come to the knowledge of this church that her motives and conduct in disposing of the difficulties that lately environed her have been grossly perverted and consequently misconstrued
insomuch that many good bretheren and the public may be led to form opinions detrimental to her integrity as a Christian Church.
Oct 1857 Granted letters of dismission to Sister Ann PHILLIPS and Brother Mitchell J MOCK then recieved charge of bastardy against Sister Mary Jane SOWELL and on motion
she was expelled from the church.
May 1858 Recieved and accusation against Brother Joseph A MOCK and appointed Thomas MULFORD and David M LEE a committee to cite him then recieved an accusation against Sarah Ann WILLIAMS with dancing.
Feb 1859 Letter of dismission to Sister Sarah WILDER.
Jan 1860 Took up the cases of Brethren James and John CONNER, which cases were continued. Took up the case of Brother J. A. MOCK and it was continued.
Feb 1860 Called the cases of Brethren James and John CONNER, and the committee having done nothing appointed Samuel L WALKER said committee then took up Brother Joseph A MOCK'S case and he not appearing
on motion he was expelled from the fellowship of the church.
May 1860 Took up Brother John CONNER'S case who was charged with having joined the Methodist Society expelled. A charge was brought against brother Sheppard COLSON of drunkness and profanity. A charge
was brought against Sister Delia Ann STRICKLAND of improper conduct.
June 1860 Sheppard COLSON expelled.
Aug 1860 Delia Ann STRICKLAND expelled.
Oct 1860 Whereas some 2 years ago L. M. BROWN a minister of the Gospel and a member of this church was excluded for grossly immoral conduct.
June 1863 J. W. TROWELL a member of said Church was killed on 3 May 1863 in the battle of Chancellorsville near Fredricksburg.
Sept 1864 Departed this life at the hospital in Montgomery Alabama July 6th 1864. Our beloved Brother Samuel WALKER in the 34th year of his agedied during war. ( page continued with a long memorial. I chose not to copy)
Nov 1865 Letters of dismission to Brother Thomas and Sister Dicy MULFORD.
Sept 1866 Names of those who died or fell in battle during the late dreadful struggle. The following list is the result of our labors, females: Elizabeth NEWTON, Dorcas LEE, Frances IVY,

Oct 1872 Charge against Brother John LANIER for dancing.
July 1874 Took up the case of John C BLACKBURN and on motion he was expelled charge keeping a bar room in Savannah. Recieved report against Brethren
John COURSEY, Benjamin MARSH, Ezekial COWART and Sister Lula ANDERSON for violating church rules in dancing. Recieved a report against Brother Ephriam BLACKBURN for keeping a bar room and using profane language.
Feb 1875 Took up the case of Sister Mary F HUNTER for dancing.
Dec 1875 Report against Brother James H ROBBINS for dancing and using profane language.
Jan 1876 Called for the report on disorderly members Brother James COURSEY for using profane language, Daniel SHARPE for dancing, William HOUGH, for drunkeness, and susing profane language, Mary POYTHRESS dancing, Sister Palmer SMITH dancing, James USHER using profane language, Benjamin BROWN, using profane language, Ezekial COWART, drunkeness and dancing, Henry E HUNTER, profance language.
June 1876 Case of Brother H. E. HUNTER for using profane language.
July 1876 Called the case of Brother H. E. HUNTER for using profane language and after hearing the report case continued. Report against Brother G. W. CLEARY and Brother Johnson MOCK for fighting and using profane language.
Feb 1877 Case of Virginia POYTHRESS for dancing.
Oct 1877 Case of Sister Virginia POYTHRESS the church being informed of her death, her case was dismissed. Granted letter of dismission to Sister Susan MOCK.
Report against Sister Ella HODGES for dancing.
May 1878 Church being informed that Sister Mary POYTHRESS had joined the Methodist Church she was expelled from this church.
