These are the Guardianship Papers of my Great Grandfather John C. Boon who was born and raised in Stewart County. His parents, Jesse M. and Caroline (Pierce) Boon died in Stewart County. Jesse in 1863 and Caroline in 1860. The orphans of Jesse and Caroline went to Jesse's Uncle, Ratliff Boon in April of 1863.

Know all men by these presents, That we, Ratliff Boon principal & Robert F. Jones Sercurity are held and firmly bound unto J. L. Wimberly Ordinary, for said County and his successors in office, in the just sum of Four Thousand dollars, payable by the said Ratliff Boon and Robert F. Jones or either of them, their heirs, executors, administratiors or assigns, jointly and severally; to be void on condition that the said Ratliff Boon shall do and perform all the duties of Guardianship for the person and property of Vashti M. Boon, Martha S. Boon, John C. Boon, Rosaline Boon, Matilda Boon and Jesse T. Boon. Orphans of Jesse M. Boon, deceased as the law requires of
heirs otherwise to remain in full force, power and virtue.
