1870 Federal Census

The 1870 Webster County census was transcribed by Sherry Osburn in 1997. It is included in the Webster County GAGenWeb with her gracious permission.

The 1870 census date was June 1, 1870. The census collected the following information about all people:





Profession, occupation or trade of each person, male or female

Value of real estate owned

Value of personal estate owned

Place of birth

Father's place of birth

Mother's place of birth

Month born, if within the year

In school this year

Can read

Can write

Deaf, dumb, blind, insane or idiotic

For males, whether eligible to vote or not
