It belonged to Joseph Dobson. He was among the first settlers and lived one mile south of Trickum. He was a gunsmith and often engaged in shooting for beef and to make money. His sons were Sterritt W, Jackson, Henry, and James Dobson.. He was born in N.C. 7 May 1787. Death 1918-1878 . He is buried in Dogwood Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Joseph and Sterrit were the original settlers of the military district Armurchee East. He had Land lot no.169. He sold 80 acres (one half of it. Section3 27th district in1852 in Whitfield Co.
About two years after the death of Joseph Dobson (will 1871) the property left to Joseph G. Dobson, Henry P. Dobson, and James W. Dobson was sold to Thomas J. Spriggs.
