Buzzards Gap Roost, May 8-10, 1864, (now known as Mill Creek Gap)

General Johnston vs General Sherman, Federals won, heavy casualties on both sides, exact numbers unknown. This was part of the Rocky Face Ridge Battle. The Confederates evacuated from their strong position, due to a Union flanking movement. Confederates evacuated towards Resaca.
