Soldiers Discharge: To all whom it may concern: Know ye, that William H Finley, a corporal of Captain William S Brown’s company, first regiment, of E – Cavalry, who was enlisted the 26th October 1861, to serve twelve months, is hereby honorably discharged from the Army of the Confederate States. Said Finly (sic) is discharged on account of being over forty years of age and his time of service having expired.

Said Wm H Finley was born in Blount County in the state of Tennessee, is 40 years and 3 months of age, 5’10” high, fair complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, and by occupation when enlisted a farmer. Given at Knoxville, 9 Dec 1862. Jso T Rogers Col; W L Brown Capt Co C, 1st Regt.
