Columbus Enquirer: Jan 21, 1851:

 

Administrators Sale. Will be sold at the late residence of Austin W Wall, deceased, in Marion County on Friday the 7th day of March next, all of the perishable property belonging to the said A W Wall, deceased, consisting of corn, fodder, hogs, horses, plantation tools and various other articles not mentioned.  Sale to continue from day to day until all is sold.  Terms of sale made known on the day.  Solomon Wall, Administrator.

Will be sold before the courthouse in the town of Buena Vista, on the first Tuesday in April next. 

 

Lot of land #220 in the 5th Dist of originally Muscogee, now Marion County, levied on as the property of Leonard J Cross, to satisfy a fifa, issued out of the

Superior Court of Houston County in favor of Shannon and McGehee vs said Cross.  Property pointed out by the plaintiffs atty.

 

Also the interest of George Williams in lot of land #28 in the 4th Dist of originally Muscogee, now Marion County, being 1/6 part of said lot of land levied on as

the property of the said George Williams to satisfy a Justice Court fifa, issued out of the Justices Court of 948th Dist of said County.  Property pointed out by

plaintiff-Thomas Nolan.  John Wilcher.

Columbus Enquirer: 5 Aug 1851:

 

Administrators Sale. Agreeably to leave had from the honorable the Inferior Court of Muscogee County, will be sold on the First Tuesday in November next to the highest bidder before the Court house door in Buena Vista in Marion County, lot of land #90 in the 10th Dist originally Muscogee now Marion County, sold as the property of the estate of John Schenk, deceased.  It lies on Upatoi Creek and has some cleared land, say 60 acres and some excellent hammock, yet to clear say 50 acres.  G E Thomas, Administrator.

 

Four months after date, application will be made to the honorable Inferior Court of Marion County for leave to sell the real estate of Austin W Wall, deceased.  Solomon Wall, Adm.

"The Literary Vadenecum" is the title of a new paper just started at Buena Vista, Marion County, by J W Gaulding, late of Oglethorpe Democrat.  It is neutral in politics,

and devoted to news and literature.  Its typography is neat and its columns well filled.  We wish the enterprising proprietor every success.

Administrators sale: Agreeably to an order of the Court of Ordinary of Marion County, will be sold in the town of Buena Vista, on the first Tuesday in January next, a house

 and lot, well improved in said town.  Also 5 negroes all belonging to the estate of Lavinia Butt, late of said county, deceased  Sold for the purpose of distribution among

 the heirs.  Edgar M Butt, Administrator.

 

Administrators sale-agreeably yo an order of the court of ordinary of Marion County will be sold on the first Tuesday in January next in the town of Buena Vista, 1 lot

 of land #200 in the 5th Dist of said county, belonging to the estate of Joshua Hawthorn, late of said county deceased.  Sold for the benefit of the heirs and creditors of

said deceased.  C W Hillman, Administrator.

 

Under the order of the Court of Ordinary will be sold before the court house door in Buena Vista, Marion Co, lot # 103 in the 3rd Dist of Marion County.  Belonging to

the estate of Simeon Parker, deceased.  John F Mathews and John W Parker administrators.

 

Agreeably to an order of the Court of Ordinary of Marion County will be sold on the first Tuesday in January next in the town of Buena Vista, Lot of land #132, in the

31st Dist of originally Lee now Marion county, belonging to the estate of James W Langford, late of said county, deceased.  Sold for the benefit of the heirs and creditors

All persons concerned are desired to take notice that we will apply to the court of ordinary in and for said county on the first monday in December next to resign as

 administrators with the will annexed on the estate of Daniel Frasier, deceased - under the act approved Feb 10, 1854 - in consequence of our residence being out of the

Marion County:

Will be sold on the first Tuesday of February next.  Before the courthouse door in Buena Vista, Marion County, within legal hours of sale, the following property to wit: 

One house and lot in the town of Buena Vista, No 61, on the west side of the public square on Block A, in the plan of said town, known as livery stable with all improvements,

levied on by virtue and to satisfy one fi fa from the Superior Court of Talbot County in favor of Thomas N Gibson vs Brad--- N Thompson. Jan 1, 1857, John Chambless,

Sheriff.

 

Mortgage Sale, at the same place on the first Tuesday in March next, the following property to wit: South half of Lot of land # -- in the 31st Dist of originally Lee, now

 Marion County, levied on as the property of Henry S Melton, to satisfy one mortgage fi fa from the Superior Court in favor of Mathew Melton vs Henry S Melton - said

 and 100 acres being east half of lot #52 in the 30th district of said county.  Also lot of land 66 in the 5th district of Randolph county, all of said lands belonging to the

Columbus Tri-Weekly Enquirer, 22 Oct 1857:

 

All persons concerned are required to take notice that on the first Monday in November next we will apply to the court of ordinary of Marion County, Georgia, for leave

to resign out offices as administrator and administrix with the will annexed of Daniel Frasier, deceased - Napolean B Frasier on account of his intention to remove from

 said county and state and Emaline Frasier because of infirmity, this August 10, 1857.  N B Frasier, administrator and Emaline Frasier, Admxr.

 

Lot of land number not known, in the 4th Dist of Marion County with its appurtenances, consisting of Saw and Merchant Mills, Levied on as the property of Solomon

 Wall to satisfy fifas in my hands issued from the Superior Court of said county is favor of Martin J Crawford vs Solomon Wall, Shadrack Wall, Hezekiah K Lamb

and William Brown.  Said place lies 1 mile west of Tazewell and is known as Wall's Merchant Mills.

 

Lot of land #68, in the 1st Dist of Marion County, levied on as the property of M R McCullor, to satisfy one fifa from a Justices court of the 1024th dist GM in favor of D

S Bullock vs  M R McCullor.

 

150 acres of Lot 59 in the 5th Dist known as the place where Wm J Robinson levied on as the property of said Robinson, now lives to satisfy one fifa from Marion

Superior Court in favor of Perry Spencer vs Wm J Robinson.

 

One half of 140 acres of lot #111 in the 4th Dist of Marion Co; levied on as the property of Cordy Bullock to satisfy one mortgage fifa from Marion Superior Court

in favor of James Bullock vs Cordy Bullock. 

 

Lands belonging to the estate of David Dunn, deceased, lot #44 in the 3rd District of originally Muscogee now Marion county containing 202-1/2 acres; also 50 acres

of Lot #53, in the 3rd Dist of said county, being the south portion of said lot. Sold for the purpose of distribution among the heirs, and payment of debts against said

Administrators Sale-Agreeably to an order of the Court of Ordinary of Marion County, GA will be sold before the Courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista, in said county

on the first Tuesday in December next within the legal hours of sale: The lands belonging to the Estate of David Dunn, deceased.  Lot #44, in the 3rd District of said county,

being the south portion of said lot.  Sold for the purpose of distribution among the heirs and payment of debts against said estate.  Isaiah D Dunn, Admr.

 

Administrators sale-Will be sold on the first Tuesday in January next, before the Courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista, Marion County, GA, the following property

 belonging to the estate of Jordan Wilchar, deceased: Lots of land #36, 60, 61, 66 and 93 in the 3rd district of originally Muscogee now Marion County, except 2-1/2 acres

 in the southeast corner of Lot #60, in 3rd district where the grave yard is). 140 acres open and improved land, good two story dwelling house and saw mill with other

valuable improvements thereon; also 34 likely young negroes, men, women and children.  Terms made known on the day sale.  Jeremiah Wilchar, Admr.

 

Administrators sale-agreeably to an order of the Court of Ordinary of Marion County, GA will be sold before the Courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista, within the legal

hours of sale on the first Tuesday in December next, the lot of land on which Demsey Dillard, deceased, resided to wit lot of land #154 in the 31st Dist of said county, except

the widows dower and ten acres out of the south east corner of said lot; sold as the property belonging to the estate of Demsey Dillard, deceased, for the benefit of the heirs and creditors. Terms on the day of sale.  William A Bell, Admr.

 

Administrators sale-agreeably to an order of the court of Ordinary of Marion County GA will be sold before the Court house door in the town of Buena Vista, in said county,

on the first tuesday in December next, the lands belonging to the estate of Jasper N Story, deceased consisting of Lot #87, and lot #106, in the 4th Dist of originally Muscogee

now Marion county, containing 405 acres more or less, the widows dower in the above premises excepted.  The lands lie on the road leading from Buena Vista to Geneva two

miles from the former place about 2140 acres cleared and in a high state of cultivation, well improved, good Ginhouse and Screw, and family dwelling, comfortable negro

houses etc.  those wishing a plantation of this size will do well to examine the premises before the day of the sale.  Benjamin A Story, Admr.

 

Executors sale: Agreeably to an order of the Court of Ordinary of Marion County, will be sold before the courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista in said county, within

the legal hours of sale, on the first Tuesday in December next, 50 acres of land being the southwest portion of Lot #114 in the 4th Dist of originally Muscogee, now Marion

Co, sold as the estate of Lewicee Armstrong, late of said county deceased.  Nathan M Watson, Exr.

 

Whereas Ephraim H Owens, Admr upon the estate of Ephraim S Lunsford, late of Marion County deceased, petitions this court for a discharge from his said Administration.

 It is therefore on motion ordered by the court that all persons show cause if any the have why said administrator should not be discharged, otherwise letters of dismission

will be granted to said applicant at the next January term of this court 1858, and he be released according to the statement in such cases made and provided. 

 

Whereas Francis A Duke, administrator upon the estate of Arthur A Duke, deceased, petitions this Court for a discharge from his said administration: it is therefore ordered

 by the court that all persons concerned show cause (if any the have) why said Administrator should not be discharged otherwise Letters of dismission will be granted to said applicant at the next March term of this court and he be released according to the statue in such cases made and provided.

 

Estray notice: Marion County.  Paschal Brannon of the 808th Dist GM tolls before me as an estray, taken up upon freehold of him the said Pashal Brannon in said county

and district a yellow bay mare mule a good deal marked with black and stripe across the wethers and black stripe from her hips down her tail some saddle marks on her

back; supposed to be some 20 years of age, a medium size Mule.  Appraised by Samuel R McNair and Isham Oliff, freeholders of said county and district to be worth $35.

Tenderson Smith, executor of James Langford vs S W Langford and F F Langford and one in favor of Tenderson Smith, executor vs Y M Langford, Franklin F,

Septimus W, Joseph A and Abner H Langford. Property pointed out by J A Langford.

 

50 acres of land it being the southeast fourth of lot #109, in the 31st district of Marion County; levied on as the property of Thos F Powel to satisfy a fi fas from a justices

court of the 507th Dist? GM infavor of James Watson, assignee vs Thomas P Powell.  Levy made and returned to my office by a constable.

Jack a negro boy of dark complexion, about 22 years old, levied on by virtue of and to satisfy a fi fa issued from Randolph Superior Court in favor of D Morris for the use

 of Samuel Harrison vs Daniel  A Newsom, administrator of the estate of John Newsom, deceased.

Whereas John W Aven of said county, applies to me for letters of Guardianship for the person and property of Mary Ann Aycock, of said county, minor and orphan of

Joshua Aycock, late of said county, deceased:  these are therefore to cite and admonish all persons concerned to appear at my office within the time proscribed by law and

Whereas Samuel M Nutt applies to me for letters of Guardianship for the persons and property of John T, William C, Robert R, Cholscey? R and Sophronia P Nutt,

said guardianship to be and appear at my office, within the time prescribed by law, then and there to show cause (if any they have) why said letters should not be

Whereas Henry L McGehee applies to me for letters of Guardianship for the person and property of Leonorah Hardison, minor and orphan of William B Hardison,

late of said county, deceased.  These are therefore to cite and admonish all and singular the kindred and others interested to be and appear at my office within the time

 prescribed by law, then and there to show cause (if any they have) why said letters should not be granted, otherwise they will be granted to said applicant at the

January term 1858, of this court.  Given under my hand and official signature, Nov 6, 1857, David Worsham.

 

Sixty days after date, application will be made to the Court of Ordinary of Marion County for leave to sell the land and negroes belonging to the estate of

Jordan Wilchar, late of Marion County, deceased. 

 

Whereas Daniel James administrator upon the estate of S R McCorkle, deceased, petitions this court for a discharge from his said administration: It is therefore ordered

by the court that all persons concerned show cause (if any they have), why said administrator should not be discharged, otherwise letters of dismission will be granted

to said applicant at the next February term of this court, and he be released according to the statute in such cases made and provided. A true extract from minutes of said

 court 8 July 1857.

 

Will be sold before the Courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista, Marion County, GA on the first Tuesday in January next, agreeably to an order of the Court of

Ordinary of Harris County within the legal hours of sale; lot of land #61 in the 12th Dist of Marion County, containing 202-1/2 acres.  Sold as belonging to the estate

of Abner Dunagan, late of Harris County, deceased.

 

Agreeably to an order from the Court of Ordinary of Marion County GA will be sold before the Courthouse door in the town of Buena Vista, in said county on the first

 tuesday in January next, within the legal hours of sale the following negroes belonging to the estate of William c Nutt, late of said county, deceased: Dick a man, Mary

a woman, Cindy a woman, Mahaly a woman, Louisa a woman, Charles a boy, Joe a boy, Sarah a girl, Amanda a girl, Louisa a girl, Lucy a girl and Zachariah a boy.

 The above named negroes sold for the payment of debts against said estate and for distribution among the heirs.  Samuel M Nutt, William P Newberry, Administrators.

 

Notice to debtors and creditors. All persons indebted to the estate of Nancy Powell, late of Marion County, GA, deceased are requested to make immediate payment;

 and those having demands against said deceased will present them to me, duly authenticated, within the time prescribed by law.  James L Powell, administrator.

Thomas Golden was tried at the Superior Court of Marion County, last week for the murder of Nicholas Jordan sometime last winter and convicted.

Marion County Georgia: Whereas Enoch Williams, applying for letters of administration upon the estate of David Fussel, formerly of said county, but lately of the state of Texas, dec'd.  These are therefore to cite and admonish all persons to show cause (if any they have) why the administration of said estate should not be granted to said applicant at the Court of Ordinary to be held in and for said county on the first Monday in December next.   Given under my hand and official signature, October 20, 1858, David Worsham, Ordinary.

 

Marion County Ordinary, June Term 1858; Whereas Thomas F Rainey, Executor upon the estate of Stephen Collins, deceased, having made application for letters of dismission from said executorship.  It is therefore ordered that all persons concerned show cause (if any they have) why said letters of dissmission should not be granted to said applicant on the Second Monday in January 1859.  A true transcript from the Minutes of said Court, June 10, 1858
