Please remember that many early people buried their loved ones on their farms. My own Marion County ancestor, John C Short, who died in 1849 was buried on his
farm. The location of the small graveyard is itemized on a deed in general terms "except the quarter acre where the graveyard is". I was able to better locate this from
other information and deeds - mentioning "hollers" which bounded it. This property is now on Fort Benning land, and they are looking for the graves (which were not
removed to the main cemetery on Ft Benning as others were).
