Georgia, Marion County. Whereas we the scattered members of the Church of Christ sent to our Sister Churches for a presbytery to constitute us into a body and in the 15th day of August 1831 the Presbytery met composed of Elder John W Pellam of Bethel of Lee County, and Elder James S Lunsford of Bethlehem, Stewart County, assembled and found the following Brethren and Sisters, Brother Sampson English and his wife Francis, Brother George Waltrep and his wife Arda, Brother Wilson Collins and Sisters Annie Eubanks and Elizabeth Johnson holding letters and finding them to be orthodox in the Faith of Christ and orderly proceeded to pronounce them Union Church.

The Church at once assembled in conference by appointing Elder Lunsford as moderator. Agreed to petition admission into the Echacon Association. Chose Brethren Sampson English, Wilson Collins and as their alternate to bear petitionary letter to the Ehacon Association, Goerge Waltrep, appointed Brother Collins to write said letter agreed to send one dollar for minutes. Resolved at our next meeting we will make choice of Pastor, Deacon and Clerk. Wilson Collins, Acting Clerk.

November 9, 1833:
Formed a Presbytery of Brethren Sampson English and John Rushing and proceeded to ordain Brother Joseph Mott to the office of Deacon, resolved that no brethren shall be allowed to make more than three acknowledgements for drunkenness. Sampson English Moderator, Wilson Collins Clerk.
