Red Bone was the name given to District 948 as of 1838. 

1840

Slave Owners in Red Bone District (948) in 1840 were Henry Stewart, Mary Tomlin, Emerson Miller, Drury Mitchel and Lewis Hunt.

 

1849

Delegates to the gubernatorial convention in Milledgeville from RedBone were: Joseph W Hardage and Clement Gore

 

1855 tax digest:

Largest taxpayers in Red Bone were Zackariah Booth, H Z Burt, A M Champion and William B Young.

 

Became known as Brantley.
