Mary E Brown, aged 47, claims 1/32 Choctaw Blood.
Has lived in Columbia, Alabama for 15 years. Before that Ft Gaines GA, before that Dawson and was born in Marion County GA.
Father was John R T Walker, deceased.
Mother was Martha L Walker, deceased.
Choctaw blood through her father, John and through her father's father John Booth. Full sister of Charles E Walker and Mrs Ann J Garrard was a full sister to her father.
Mary's husband was Walter A Brown, who has no Choctaw blood.
children: Robert M who is 20; Florence who is 18; Walter aged 15; Ethel aged 12; Edith aged 9. All children live with her.
Living brothers: Charles W Walker; John S Walker; Henry S Walker and Z. T. Walker. Three of them are present today, but not Z. T. Two brothers deceased. Sisters are Mrs Kate Coker and Mrs Annie Beane (who lives in Columbia Alabama. Has three deceased sisters.
Father has one living brother: George Washington Walker, living in Magnolia, Arkansas.
Father has two other sisters besides Mrs Ann Garrard: Mrs A D Williams of Louisville KY and Mrs Caroline Watson of Columbus GA.
Mary Brown has two children who are of age: Charles W Brown (lives in Baltimore, Maryland) and Mrs Henry McClendon (lives near Americus)
Notation on the application" The applicant has the appearance of being a white woman and shows no indications of being possessed of Indian blood - does not speak or understand the Choctaw language."
