State of Georgia, Marion County: This indenture made the Eleventh day of March
in the year of our Lord, one Thousand nine hundred and one between Mrs. Martha
Short of the state of Georgia and county of Marion of the one part and Mrs.
Louise Wall of the State of Georgia and County of Marion of the other Part.
Witnesseth That the said Mrs. Martha Short for an in consideration of the sum of
Two hundred dollars to her in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents (the receipt of whereof is hereby acknowledged) hath granted,
bargained, sold and conveyed and doth by here presents grant, bargain, sell and
convey unto the said Mrs. Louise Wall her heirs and assigns the following
described property sixty six + 1/3 acres of land off of lot of land number two
hundred thirty-six (236) in the fifth district of Marion County Georgia bounded
as follows on the west by lands of Mrs. Bartlett, on the east by lands of J. H.
Story Sr, on the south by lands of Mrs. Martha Short, on the north by lands of
Mrs. Martha Short. To have and to hold the said bargained premises unto
her the said Mrs. Louise Wall heirs and
assigns together with all and singular the rights, members and appertenances
hereof to the same in any manner belonging to her, and her own proper use
benefit and behoof in fee simple and the same Mrs. Martha Short for her heirs
executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the same Mrs.
Louise Wall heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and
title thereof against her and against the claims of her heirs executors
administrators and assigns and against the claims of all other persons
whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Mrs. Martha Short hath hereunto
set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year first above written.

Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Louise Wall is the daughter of James E.
Short and Martha Melton, she married John Wall 12 Jan 1882, Marion Co GA.

Georgia, Marion County: This indenture made and entered into this the twenty
third of February eighteen hundred forty six between Moses H. Hollis of the
County and state aforesaid of the one part and Matthew Melton of the same county
and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Moses J. Hollis for
and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twelve dollars and fifty
cents to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sell and convey
unto the said Matthew Melton his heirs and consigns all that tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the county of Marion known and distinguished in the ---
of said county as lot No. 237-two hundred and thirty seven in the fifth district
of original Muscogee County now Marion County. Fifty acres more or less it
being the west part of said lot, Indian Creek being the line. The right
and title to which said lot or parcel of land the said Moses J. Hollis hereby
warrant and will forever defend from all persons whatsoever unto the said
Matthew Melton his heirs and assigns. In testimony whereof he hath
hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year above written. Moses J.

Georgia, Marion County: This indenture made and entered into this twenty second
day of October eighteen hundred seventy nine between Mary A. Hanks and William
R. Kemp and Sarah R. Boynton and John R. Kemp and Francis R. Hairbuck (or
Hanbuck)and Lucy A. Thompson all legal heirs of Elizabeth Robison deceased of
the one part and Mathew Melton of the other part all of said county and state.
Witnesseth that the said heirs for and in consideration of the sum of three
hundred and twenty dollars and there in hand paid at and before the sealing and
deliver of these presents the receipt is hereby acknowledged that the said heirs
has granted bargained sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant
bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mathew Melton, his heirs and assigns the
west half of lot of land No. two hundred thirteen (213) in the 5th District of
Marion County (except one eight of an acre in a square shape there the grave
yard now stands) together with and singluar the rights members and appurtances
thereunto belonging. In testimony whereof the said legal heirs has
hereunto set their hands and affixed their signatures this day and year above

Georgia, Marion County: This indenture made and entered into this the ninth day
of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifty eight
between Mary Short of the one part and Matthew Melton of the other part of the
State and County above mentioned. Witnesseth that for and in consideration
for the sum of one thousand and forty dollars to her in hand paid at and before
the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt of whereof is hereby
acknowledged the said Mary
Short hath granted bargained sole and conveyed and by these presents grant
bargain sell and convey unto the said Matthew Melton his heirs and assigns all
that parcel of land known and distinguished by lot (No 212) two hundred and
twelve in the fifth District of originally Muscogee now Marion County containing
two hundred two and one half acres more or less to have and to hold the said
bargained premises together with all its members and appurtenances thereunto
belonging to the said Matthew Melton his heirs and assigns and to his and their
own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said bargained
premises and the right and title thereunto to the said Matthew his heirs and
assigns the said Mary Short will warrant and forever defend against the claims
of himself and against the claims of all other person or persons whatsoever.
In testimony the said Mary Short hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal

Mary Short is Mary McDaniel Short who was the widow of John C. Short.
Her son, James E. Short married Matthew Melton's daughter Martha Ann "Mattie",
25 November 1852, Marion Co, GA. Lot 212 was purchased in two portions on
Dec 8th, 1851. The east one half of the lot was purchased by Laban Howell
Short and his brother Benjamin Henry Short (sons of John C. and Mary McDaniel
Short) and the south west corner (50 acres) by the widow Mary McDaniel Short,
purchased from Joseph D. Reynolds for a total of $600.00. I don't know how the
other 52 acres came into their hands. The witness Solomon W. Thompson was
married to Louisa Jane Melton - daughter of Matthew Melton.)

This indenture, made the 21st day of Feby, in the year of our Lord One Thousand
Nine Hundred Seven between Mrs. Sarah J. Wall and Mrs. Lou Wall of the County of
Marion of the first part and M. E. Short of the County of Marion of the second
part. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part, for and in
consideration of the sum of Five dollars and the natural love and affection they
bear for said M. E. Short, in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by his heirs,
bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and
convey unto the said part of the second part, his heirs and assigns all that
tract or parcel of land lying or being in the County of Marion said
state; to
wit: Thirty three acres of the South west corner of Lot 235 as follows:
beginning at the south east corner of said land lot and running east along the
south line of said lot from East to West, hence west to the west line of said
lot and thence south along said west line to starting point. Also 23 acres
more or less off the North East corner of Lot No. 236, beginning at the
northeast
corner of said lot and running west along said line 34-12 rods thence north to a
line through the center of said lot from east to west, thence east along
said line to the East line of said lot and thence south along said East line to
starting point. All in the 5th District, said County aggregating 66 acres
more or less, this being one-third of the Martha Short place. Signed Mrs.

(M.E. Short is Matthew E. Short, and his sisters were Sarah Jane who married
Charlie Wall and Frances Louisa who married John Wesley Wall. Matthew
married as his second wife Hattie Wall, sister to John and Charlie Wall.
The Martha Short mentioned was their mother, widow of James E. Short.)

Written: March 1, 1907; Recorded: March 5, 1907
This indenture made this 1st day of March, in the year of our lord One Thousand
Nine Hundred Seven between J. H. Horne of the County of Marion of the first part
and B. B. Horne of the County of Marion of the second part. Witnesseth,
That the said party of this first part for and in consideration of the sum of
one hundred and 00/100 dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by thee presents does grant, bargain,
sell and convey unto the said party of the second party, his heirs and assigns
all that tract or parcel of land lying or being in the County of Marion to wit:
A one seventh (1/7) undivided interest in one hundred and twenty acres (125)
more or less off of the east side of Lot of land Number ninety six (96),
situated by and being in the 31st district of Marion County, state of Georgia
and bounded as follows on the East by lands of Berry Wilhous, South by land of
Jack and Pete
Tullis, West by land of Mrs. S. J. Tullis and North by lands of Dr. C. E.
Pickett the interest herein conveyed being all my interest in said land.
