Guardianship of Samuel Johnson and Walter Johnson

To the Hon Court of Ordinary of said County

The petition of Wm Grimes of said county shows that Samuel Johnson (20) Twenty years of age and Walter Johnson (18) eighteen years of age are entilled (sic) to an interest in the estate of John Baily late of the County of Early & said State now deceased which interest in said estate is worth about Twenty Six Dollars that said minors wishes to elect & choose your Petioner (sic)as their guardian for said fund they not now having a guardian Petioner (sic) asks that said appointment be made in terms of the law.

Samuel Johnson a minor aged 20 years and Waller Johnson a minor 18 years old having come into open court and chose Wm Grimes of said County as tier guardian, It is ordered by the court that said Wm Grimes be and he is hererby appointed guardian of said minor children as prayed (??) for.

To Wm Grimes Greeting

You the said William Grimes having duly applied for letters of Guardianship of Samuel Johnson aged 20 years and Walter Johnson aged 18 years minor children of Attaway Johnson and have in pursuance of an order regularly granged by the ordinary of said county of this court held in and for said county on the 4th Monday in Apr 1890 taking the oath and giving the bond required by law these are therefore to authorize and charge you to receive and collect and take charge of any interest consisting of moneys personal property, real estate or any other property of any kind Samuel Johnson & Walter Johnson may have in and to the estate of John Bailey late of Early County deceased and to do all other things which bylaw are required of you as guardian of said minors to which trust you are hereby appointed with all the authority of guardian under the laws of this state.
