She applied for widows pensions in 1893 through 1905 every year.

 

He was in Company H, 46th Regt GA Volunteers.  He died at home of dysentery contracted in the War two weeks after he left the service. 

He died 15 Jan 1864.  that she became his wife in 1852, and she has lived in Georgia  since 1830.

 

Affidavit of witnesses: 11 Apr 1894.  D B Wells, H T Hollis and J J Wells.  That James Short enlisted March 1862, contracted chronic dysentery in the service and returned home and died 15 Jan 1864; left the service on retreat from Chattanooga TN.
