• Clayton Library System The Clayton County Library System provides some genealogy assistance to researchers. We have the Atlanta Journal and Constitution on microfilm back into the 1800's, and can do a search for an obituary for people from out of town. We also have county histories for the state of Georgia, and can provide a search for a family name. • Washington Memorial Library on Facebook. The Genealogical and Historical Room has one of the largest collections in the southeast. Contains 21,000 books, 15,000 microfilms, 259 maps and 60 subscriptions. The Macon Telegraph newspaper issues are indexed on computer from 1899. The newspaper is also indexed in the genealogy room in books for dates prior to that. Confederate Soldier and Pension Records are available.
