State of Georgia, Madison County: Received this thirty first December Eighteen hundred and forty seven of Amos Carithers, Administrator and Penelope Carithers, Administratrix upon the estate of James Carithers, late of said county, deceased, Two hundred and eighty four dollars and seventeen cents in full entire and complete satisfaction of the right, title, interest, property, claims or demands I have or might have in and upon the estate real and personal of said James Carithers, deceased, my Father; and Amos Carithers Admr. and Penelope Carithers, Admrx. as aforesaid is hereby fully and entirely discharged and acquited of any and all future claim on my part upon said estate. Rec’d of my Father James Carithers in his lifetime one bedstead and furniture valued at ten dollars, one gray horse colt three years old valued at thirty dollars, one cow valued at five dollars, one saddle valued at ten dollars, and the further sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in money making in all Two hundred and five dollars, this 31st Dec 1842. Rec’d of my Father in Law James Carithers in his lifetime in right of my wife, daughter of said James Carithers, cow & calf valued at five dollars; bed furniture sted and stand of curtains valued at fifteen dollars; chest, two dollars; stand table, two dollars; side saddle, thirteen dollars; and the further sum of three hundred dollars in money making in all the sum of three hundred and thirty seven dollars, this 21st December 1842.
