This index includes all of the names from Will Book A and Will Book B.  Women are indexed by their married names AND maiden names, if known.  Some people are named in several wills with varient spellings, and each spelling is listed separately in the index.   Slaves are listed under the surname "Slave", with the surname of the slaveowner listed in (parentheses) after the slave's first name.  This does not necessarily mean that the slave adopted that surname after emancipation; however, it may be helpful in locating slaves who were owned by particular families.
