Thomas & Ann Elizabeth Morton Sharp

Thomas Sharp was born January 23, 1798, died Nov. 11, 1878 in Newton Co., Georgia and is buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery on Butler Bridge Road, Newton Co.  He married Sept. 2, 1821, Ann Elizabeth Morton born Feb 23, 1797, died May 10, 1881, daughter of Oliver Morton, Jones Co., Georgia.  She is buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery. 

Thomas Sharp and his wife moved to Newton Co., Georgia about 1822.  He bought land on Butler Bridge Road, built a home on this property, and lived the remainder of his life in this locality.  Their children were: (1) William Oliver Sharp born May 29, 1822, died October 12, 1823, buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery. (2) Henry Thomas Sharp born May 8, 1824, died December 14, 1912, married Jane C. Dulin, buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery. (3) Nathan Johnson Sharp born November 15, 1825. No record of when he died and where he is buried. (4) Sara Elizabeth Sharp born December 4, 1827, died April 1, 1838, buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery. (5) Mary Ann Elizabeth Sharp born December 20, 1829, death date unknown, married Morris Green, Conyers, Rockdale Co., Georgia, buried in the Conyers City Cemetery. (6) Lemuel James Sharp born August 20, 1832. He fought in the Civil War, died May 18, 1862 at Richmond, Virginia. His body was returned home and is buried in the Sharp Family Cemetery. (7) Abrilla Johnson Sharp born February 12, 1835, death date unknown, married Rev. C.C. White, lived in Rockdale Co., Georgia, buried in the Conyers City Cemetery. (8) Martha Jane Sharp born August 8, 1837, died 1899, married Columbus Wade Turner of Henry Co., December 20, 1860.
