1862-Mar. 1 Page 60 Charles A. Cannon-Enlisted under Capt. Jarred Stallings in Co. A. 21st Ga. Regt. Vol. Knights Battalion. First in Gen. Mazey's brigade, later in Gen. Bragg's. Was in battle of Salt Peter mines, Perryville, Vicksburg, Cumberland Gap, Murfreesboro, Knoxville, Coringh, Franklin, Ft. Hill and Chickamauga. At Chickamauga was transferred to Quartermasters dept. and sent to South Carolina. Next battle at Missionary Ridge. Forced back into Georgia. In battle of Ressaica, Kennesaw Mountain then Lost Mountain. Gen. FitzHugh Lee was division commander at this time. Gen. Hood was relieved and Gen. Johnson re-instated. Went to Branchville, S.C. at Spartanburg fought the enemy fact to fact. In battle of Charlotte, NC at Benton on Pearal River fought and fell back, then at Smithville, last regular fighting. Company A enlisted 100 strong. Only 20 men survived the war. The 41st Ga served under four Brigadier Generals. (From Merlyn Whiting snail main)

Fayette County Rangers, or more officially known as Co. F. 13th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry was organized at Dublin at Gaulding Lodge.  They took part in all of the major battles in the Virginia area, including: Richmond, Sharpsburg, Malvern Hill, Seven Pines, Chancellorsville, Fredricksburg, Gettysburg, Petersburg, Spotsylvania, Wilderness and Appomattox.
One member of the lodge-Stephen Cannon, had become a member on February 15, 1861 and on September 7, 1861 it was reported that he had fell a victim to death in Richmond, Virginia while a soldier in the Confederate Service.  The deaths of Thomas M. Morgan, George Page, James M. Hairsten, Francis M. Shipps, William T. Brassell, William I Sams, James B Fitts and Private Stephen Cannon were reported in the minutes of 1861-2. I hereby acknowledge that I have received from Wm. Malone, Dora and Louise Malone, hereinafter referred to as transferee-assignee, One Hundred Seventy-five Dollars ($175.00), in the following manner: (State all considerations) care and attention for past
several years in consideration for which, I hereby transfer and assign to said transferee-assignee all my right and interest in the pension balances of One Hundred Seventy-five Dollars ($175.00), due, appropriated and unpaid to me for the years 1930 and 1931,
allowed me by the State of Georgia; and I hereby nominate, appoint and authorize said transferee-assignee to collect and receipt for the same, in my name, on the pay rolls of said County, when it is paid by the State.
